What do you get when you put a deer and a french bulldog together? You get an unlikely playdate and one hilarious video that goes viral

Ellie-Mae is a french bulldog from Wellington, Nova Scotia, who ran into a deer behind his house and got extremely excited to see the much larger animal. Who knew french bulldogs could be so fast? The little dogs are the fourth most popular dog in American. They’re bred to be companions and make great baby sitters.

At the beginning of the video, you can see Ellie-Mae off in the distance toying with the deer. She quickly darts back and forth with the deer giving chase, before they both come closer for a better look.

The excitement Ellie-Mae has for her new friend is obvious, she rapidly runs circles around the deer while barking

With the tiny french bulldog running around, the deer seems a little bit confused as to how to play with an animal so small. The buck doesn’t know if he should watch the human with the camera, or the small dog trying to play. He keeps putting his antlers down like he’s going to toss Ellie-Mae, but she’s too quick for him.

As the video goes one, the much smaller dog keeps running out of the way just in time to dodge the deer. It’s almost as if Ellie-Mae sticks her tongue out at him to tease the buck.

It’s hard to tell whether the deer is getting annoyed or not, but it’s clear that Ellie-Mae has no fear

The standoff continues for quite some time, with the little french bulldog barking and sprinting all over the place. It’s very suspenseful watching the tiny dog testing the deer, it looks like he might rush in with his antlers down several times.

When the deer finally decides he’s had enough of the barking dog and the game of tag, he shows us that he’s much faster than the dog when it comes to long-distance running.

When the deer finally decides to take off he easily outruns Ellie-Mae, the dogs short legs are no match for the bucks long strides

Seeing the deer take off full speed is so cool, he leaves the french bulldog in the dust as he sprints away. Even though the buck is way faster, Ellie-Mae won’t give up that easy. The tough dog chases her new friend all the way into the forest and they both disappear.
