Bet you've never seen a dog and a bird this close.

Milo was barking mad at the park while walking with Charlotte’s father.

He was curious about what the little pup was trying to say as it barked, ran, and went to a specific location.

Milo ran, and there they found an injured pink Galah bird.

They brought it home to help the bird recover and find the owner.

They named the Galah Cracker, and he has lovely pink and gray feathers.

He had a broken wing, and Charlotte placed him in a cage for days.

Milo seemed very concerned about his new friend and would always stay by the cage as if to say, “It’s okay, buddy. You’ll be alright. I’m here.”

This interaction started a strong bond between Milo and Cracker.

Milo would come to the cage and whimper; you could tell he felt sad for his new friend.

He was guarding the cage the whole time, making sure that nothing could harm Cracker.

In return, Cracker wanted to get close to Milo.

He learned how to climb down to the bottom of the cage once he was strong enough to move his injured wing.

That’s how their daily interaction improved, and it went on until Cracker fully recovered.

They were inseparable; where Milo went, Cracker followed.

The gentle pup loves cuddling with his new best friend, but that sweetness always comes with a price.

It seems like Cracker loves cuddling too much because he often evades Milo’s space, especially when he’s napping on his bed.

It’s all good, though, because they end up cuddling or playing, anyway.

But their bond was tested when Cracker flew away.

Charlotte preferred that Cracker would fly freely rather than be inside a cage or their home.

However, he flew away one time, and it was difficult to find him again.

Milo was never the same without Cracker.

It was evident on his face that he was sad that Cracker was gone and would often go to the birdcage to check if he was there.

He would whimper and cry after realizing his best friend was gone, and this broke Charlotte’s heart.

But fate found a way to reunite Milo and Cracker.

Two weeks later, Charlotte saw a Facebook post of a pink and gray Galah found around two suburbs away from her.

She couldn’t believe it at first because getting a bird back after it flew away was almost impossible.

But she knew she had to give it a try and see if it was Cracker.

There was only one way to find out: if he could recognize Milo.

Charlotte brought the bird home and placed it in the cage.

She brought Milo out and thought that if the bird would go down to meet her dog, then it was definitely Cracker.

And he did!

Cracker instantly recognized his dear old buddy and was happy to be reunited again!

On the other hand, Milo couldn’t contain his joy; you could see that in those tail wags!

Everything ended well for these two best friends, and we hope they’ll never be separated again.
