Well, we guess they’re all her friends now.

Belly rubs and scratches might be our dog’s second favorite thing after snacks. In fact, some of these dogs love it so much that they insist on giving it to other dogs as well.

It might sound weird but a Canadian dog has a different way of making friends. It’s less of a smell-your-behind and more of “let me touch you” kind of thing and it’s really adorable.

Ruby and her brother Miles are regulars at The Den Doggy Daycare.

The establishment, based in Burlington, Ontario, caters to a lot of dogs. This means more chances of finding new friends and more chances to see canine antics.

And as other dogs began socializing, Alanah Lorraine, a regular who brings her dog Lexy to the same establishment, noticed something unusual.

“She does it every time she is in,” Lorraine told The Dodo. “We think she wants attention!”

And if you picture yourself running your hand over a dog’s fur, that’s exactly what Ruby was doing with other dogs.

It was so funny, adorable, and unusual that Lorraine started filming Ruby’s greeting. And while she’s having a hard time keeping her paws to herself, the other dogs didn’t seem to mind her strange way of saying “Hello, I am friend.”

Lorraine compiled these short clips of Ruby petting other dogs and posted in on TikTok.

The 20-second video showed Ruby giving a retriever a boop. Her brother wasn’t spared too. And through all of these petting and booping, it seems that Ruby is saying the same thing, “I touch you. You are friend now.”

The video has since enjoyed its viral status with over two thousand comments and three hundred thousand likes. And we can’t blame these people because it’s just so adorable.

According to experts, pawing can mean a lot of things.

We all know that dogs communicate using their barks and howls. But more than that, they use body language like tilted head, wagging tail, snarling lips, and tucked tail among others. Pawing is one of those.

Basically, pawing is a form of communication. Or more specifically, it’s a means for communication initiation.

Some dogs use their paw to communicate affection.

Maybe you’re petting your dog and you feel their paw on you. This could mean that they want more of those rubs. Sometimes, when our dogs feel that we’re down or sad, they tend to put their paws on our laps as a show of empathy.

They can also wave their paws up and down to tell you they need attention. But most of all, dogs understand the value of touch because of the belly rubs we give them. So what’s the best way to show love? Rubs and pats, of course.

Maybe this is what Ruby is on to most especially with a lot of new friends around her.

“Most dogs aren’t bothered by it and just let it happen,” Lorraine said to The Dodo.

And we perfectly understand why they just let her be. After all, who wouldn’t want those adorable pets?
