We use treats to reward dogs either after successfully doing a trick or for them being a good boy at home. Sometimes, our dogs will exceed our expectations, which makes them deserving of a second one! Here’s a video of one dog who became surprised after his owner hands him a second treat.

This dog deserves to have more treats than one and here is the reason why.

Before we get to the video, let me introduce the featured pooch in today’s story, Norbert. Norbert is a tri-mix of Chihuahua, Cairn Terrier, and Lhasa Apso, and he lives with his author-mom, Julia Steines. Julia adopted Norbert from Petfinder’s online site when he was only 4 months old, and now the pooch has been living with Julia for 11 years.

Despite his age, he will always remain an adorable pup because of his petite size.

Moreover, this 3-pound dog is a registered therapy dog that paints smiles onto people’s faces at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles with his tiny high-five plus other uniquely named tricks that Julia taught him.

This dog has gotten accustomed to being rewarded with treats and he definitely deserves it.

It was one special treat-time for Norbert as he sat patiently on the sofa while his mom put a yummy snack in front of him. His eyes were glued on Julia’s hand and he continued sitting with an excited look on his face. Finally, Julia extended her hand holding the treat toward Norbert and the pooch instantly grabbed it with his mouth.

He chewed the treat and afterward savored its delicious taste that remained on his tongue.

Norbert looked away for a second, but when he turned back to his mom, he was surprised to see Julia holding another treat in her hands.

Norbert was instantly stunned at the sight of the second treat that his mom was holding. In this situation, some other dogs would normally stand up and wag their tails because of their excitement. However, for Norbert, he shows his excitement in the most peculiar yet adorable way – sticking his tongue out of his mouth.

While he was doing it, he was just sitting at the same spot as before and waited for the second treat to be fed right into his mouth.

At the end of the video, Norbert looked at the camera with a face of pure satisfaction and with his tongue out.

The level of cuteness in this 39-second clip was just way too high.
