If you saw Rico Soegiarto’s dog before he rescued the husky you would never know it is the same dog you see today. This pup is completely unrecognizable.
This is because Soegiarto found the husky riddle with sores and terribly malnourished.
Seeing dogs in this condition in the streets of Denpasar, Bali is nothing new. The country’s government struggles to keep its stray dog population under control a well as to keep rabies outbreaks to a minimum.
But Soegiarto saw something special when he first looked into that husky’s big blue eyes.
“I don’t know what was special about her,” Soegiarto told Bored Panda. “It’s about heart and feeling. I found her when I was on the way back home from work, she was in the middle of the street.”
He decided that he would give the sad looking doggy a second chance and took her on home.
The poor husky was so weak and in such bad shape that she was losing clumps of her fur and could barely stand up, according to The Sun.
Basically, this dog was on her deathbed.
Sweet Soegiarto took the husky in and gave it a proper grooming, took it to the vet and gave it a healthy diet. The vet was able to treat the dog’s wounds and advised Soegiarto on what he should feed his dog to get his weight up.
Now that 11 months have passed, Soegiarto’s dog is completely unrecognizable. Her wounds are all gone.
Her coat is thick and beautiful and is strong and healthy.
She also loves to snuggle with Soegiarto who she is now extremely fond of. Now the husky is living a life that she’s always deserved.
“She loves getting petted and eats plenty of cookies!” Soegiarto said. “And she is so sociable that she worries me sometimes. There are many thieves in Bali.”
Soegiarto’s husky is safe and sound now.
Not only does she have Soegiarto to love her but she also has four new dog siblings. Soegiarto gave the husky a perfectly fitting name.
“Her name is Hope,” Soegiarto said.
Soegiarto ended up posting Hope’s transformation photos online where they ended up going viral.
“Do you still remember? Dog that I found 10 months ago. Swipe left to see the changes,” he wrote in the photo’s caption.
That post ended up being shared more than 61,000 times.
People were shocked by Hope’s transformation.
“What an amazing story and you’re an amazing person. Good people DO exist,” said one commenter on Facebook.
