We’ve all wished that our pets could talk – and in this viral video that has garnered over 42 million views – you get a glimpse into what it would be like if they really did!
There’s the age-old stereotype that dogs and cats are mortal enemies, but Clyde the dog would beg to differ. In a video dubbed by Andrew Grantham aka The King of Dub, Clyde is a very excited dog who wants a new kitten in the house. Grantham has dubbed his voice over the video, playing both Clyde and the dog owner.
The video is titled “Dog Wants a Kitty” and over 42 million people have been treated to watching Clyde get very excited about having a potential new kitty sibling in the house. Of course, there was going to be some teasing at first.
The video starts with Clyde’s dad telling him that he made a visit to the pet store – immediately, the sweet dog’s excitement levels skyrocket.
Clyde is so insanely excited because he’s been telling his dad how much he wants an orange tabby from the pet store! All of this is being conveyed hilariously through Grantham’s dubbing. As Clyde’s precious little mouth moves, Grantham has matched up the audio to make it look like Clyde is talking – it’s perfectly in sync!
The hysterical conversation between the two of them continues and Clyde’s dad wants to keep teasing the pup just a little bit more. He continues to tell Clyde that he looked at snakes, to which Clyde hilariously replies with a “blegh” as he sticks his tongue out at the same time.
Dad says he looked at hamsters, guinea pigs, and even newts – all of which Clyde replies in eager “Yeah?” But then dad mentions kittens again…
At the very mention of the word “kitten,” Clyde absolutely loses his mind in total elation and excitement. But then dad continues the teasing convo and mentions that he even looked at hermit crabs. “Ohhhh, COME ON!” Clyde yells as he leaps around in annoyance.
Then, Clyde innocently threatens his dad by saying he’s going to “chew the couch’s arm right off!” if he doesn’t see a kitten come into the room soon. Then…it happens…the moment he’s been waiting for…
Clyde perks up in an instant as soon as he hears a kitten’s tiny meow from another room.
“There were shelter kittens, so I picked one up,” said dad. At hearing this, Clyde is instantly transformed into the happiest dog on the entire planet. The sweet pup had finally received the kitten of his dreams!
