Fighting like dogs and cats? Not these two! Meet a dog and a kitty who are best pals.
Tennyson is a German Shepherd who recently got a new friend. His owners adopted a kitten! The two are already best friends, and they have shown that they each other’s back.
Tennyson tries to teach his new pal how to get around. He knows the kitten has a lot of growing up to do before he is ready to tackle life on his own. One huge obstacle for this new guest is the staircase.
Tennyson decided to show his kitten friend how to climb the stairs. The dog slowly walked up a few steps, then waited for the kitten to follow. He turned and watched as the black and white kitten slowly made his way up the steps. The cat was barely taller than each of the steps, so he had a hard time getting up. He would have to crouch down to prepare for each step, then use all his strength to jump up. This got tiring after a few steps!
It was obvious that the kitty didn’t know how to handle the stairs. Instead of climbing straight up them, he would wander side to side. The little kitten seemed to think that there was an easier part of the stairs to go up – he didn’t understand that each one was flat!
The concerned dog wanted to help his friend get up the stairs. “Tenny, no. Let him do it himself,” the owner warned him. Tennyson could not watch his friend struggle any longer. He decided to take matters into his own paws. He bent down to pick the kitten up. The kitty had no idea what was happening and shied away from the dog. Tennyson tried again to pick him up. The kitten would tuck its head in each time the dog got closer to him, making it impossible for the dog to help him.
Finally, the kitten began to understand. Tennyson gently grabbed the kitty’s head in his mouth and walked up to the top of the stairs. The kitten looked silly hanging out of the dog’s mouth. When they reached the top, Tennyson put the kitten down on the landing and laid down next to him. The curious kitty began to look around, and the two cuddled together. These two are going to make an amazing team.
