Thank goodness the vet realized what was going on before it was too late!

Animals, like humans, are individuals with different temperaments and personalities. When you make the decision to take an animal into your home, you are making the decision to love and care for it, whatever the case may be. As the Bible says, “Love is patient, love is kind.”

Unfortunately, some people see pets as a novelty or a form of entertainment for themselves, disposing of the animal when it no longer suits their needs.

This was the case for a dog named Simba who was given up by his family and on track to be euthanized.

The reason?

The poor little guy was “not playing” enough.

When a rescue shelter called Sidewalks Specials came across Simba, they couldn’t help but take him in.

By the time they found him, however, the puppy was already in a horrendous state, with a case of tick fever that gave him a 50% chance of death.

The poor thing was sick, depressed, and completely abandoned.

But the animal lovers at Sidewalk Specials refused to give up on him, getting him veterinary care and a foster family to heal and grow with.

The little guy even gets a “big fur brother” who nurses and cares for him until the shelter’s big Adoption Day event.

By the time Sidewalk Specials’ big Adoption Day arrived, Simba had been transformed into a rambunctious, energetic pup.

He was immediately adopted by a family who had traveled all the way to the event specifically for him.

His new owner posted an update on Facebook, writing:

In a video posted to YouTube by Sidewalk Specials, we get to see Simba’s entire journey, as well as an update from his adoptive family.

Since being uploaded, the video has been viewed over 179k times.

People can’t seem to get over the fact that an innocent animal was going to be killed for such ridiculous reasons.

In the end though, all’s well that ends well for little Simba.

In a photograph, posted to Facebook on May 10th, 2017, we see him happily enjoying a new lease on life thanks to Sidewalk Specials and his new forever family.
