A lot of families gather to wait for the clock to tick for the most special day in December – Christmas. While people wait for the chimes of the reindeer’s sleigh bells, sometimes the surprise comes earlier than expected. In fact, this certain family was greeted by something that they least expected.
Instead of Santa and his reindeer at the rooftop, this family got a deer in the basement.
A group of family and friends were spending a joyous time during the Christmas Eve of 2011. They were hanging out and having a great time while waiting for the clock to strike midnight. However, they heard a sudden crash coming from the house’s basement and so they had some people check on it.
The man was slowly taking a peek behind the door and saw eyes glowing amid the darkness. Upon closer inspection, they confirmed it was a deer, which somehow snuck into their basement!
The curiosity in the room is plainly hilarious.
The woman suggested to call animal control as soon as possible to get the deer out of the house but it seemed like the men had something else in mind. The men assembled by the door like curious bystanders to get a closer look at the deer. They kept the door just a bit open, enough for them to glance at the shadow lurking in the basement.
They softly giggled and whispered while in awe of the deer and eventually noticed that it has gigantic antlers. After a short while, they were able to hit the lights on, letting them see the buck clearer than before.
They all took turns having their photographs taken with the deer in the background.
The people tread gently hoping not to startle the deer. The buck was just as confused as the people were and everyone was just engaging in some kind of staring contest with him.
Furthermore, there was nothing else to do, as the people could not risk going inside the room and injuring themselves with its strong antlers. Instead, they stayed behind the door and brought their phones to record and take photos of the stray buck inside.
The family shared the video on the internet, and it just went insanely viral this year.
After the surprising series of events, the family shared the clip on social media, getting random folks laughing at their funny reactions. Almost nine years have passed and YouTube randomly rolled the clip into people’s recommended pages.
Today, the video has over 2.5 million views, and the count is probably not stopping anytime soon. Sometimes, the way the YouTube algorithm is just weird but people certainly got the giggles from this old clip. What a deer surprise!
Perhaps he was there looking for Santa or he just wants to join a fun family gathering for Christmas.
Regardless of what the buck’s reasons were for breaking into that house, it was a relief that he was not harmed in any way. The family took the situation well and saw it as humorous yet they were also careful not to intimidate it nor even attempt to force it away with harsh means.
If the deer crashed into the wrong household, the people might have hurt him. Only the family knew what happened to their hooved visitor next, and hopefully, the buck pranced back home safe and sound.
