People may have the means to go out and choose which dog to bring home. But that doesn’t always mean dogs find themselves in good homes. People are flawed in general. And dogs? They’re not.
Dogs will love whoever cares for them. Sadly though, that’s not always reciprocated. Lots of dogs are abandoned and neglected. Not all of them get a second chance.
Scooby found a new life.
A couple just suddenly noticed a big dog poking its head out of the woods. The poor thing looked hungry and alone. The man named Joe says that people have a tendency to leave dogs out there where he lives.
Joe and Maria saw Scooby looking terrified and confused. But look how the dog stands his ground as he looks at the new humans. Maybe he saw a glimmer of hope. Poor dog!
Scooby’s got perky ears that move about when he barks and expresses himself.
Joe and Maria try to get as close as they can to the abandoned dog and Scooby lets out a few friendly barks. He looks around as he does so, as if telling them his story as to how he ended up there.
Joe shared,
“Well, since I can’t get him to come up to me, I’ll bring him food.”
It was in the fall when Joe started giving Scooby some food.
He extends his hand, urging the dog to come closer and take the food from his palm. Scooby was hesitant at first but his hunger took over, and he must have sensed that the couple meant no harm.
Scooby takes the snack, backs up again, and starts chewing. He is a good boy!
Joe goes on to say that he tried and tried to approach and catch the dog but since Scooby was not treated well, the poor canine would get so afraid that he would just disappear back into the woods.
Maria prayed for Scooby during winter.
Spring went by with no trace of the dog but when the summer sun came out, Scooby appeared out of nowhere, running through the trees and up the driveway under the golden rays of the sun. He’s just fine!
And look how the dog stands closer!
Joe and Maria were ecstatic at the breakthrough.
“It’s like he adopted us at that point.”
She said.
Scooby started to warm up, getting closer and closer, until eventually he began to stay closer to the house. It’s like he needed two seasons to think about the couple who were so nice to him. And he finally decided.
When Joe and Maria come back home from a little trip, she calls out to him and the once abandoned dog comes out running to meet his new friends. He is such a beautiful dog!
Scooby was still a bit skittish when approached. Joe let his dog, Samson, out and guess what? Instant friends! And the best part is that Samson took Scooby up and into the house.
Look how hesitant he is. But this is his new home!
Scooby trusts Samson and he does enter the house. And of course, Joe and Maria are more than happy to have him inside. Scooby begins exploring his new home, even letting Joe pet him. Up the stairs you go!
Scooby even got to visit the vet where he passed with flying colors. He’s in great shape. And now he has a new family! Joe and Maria are wonderful people and Scooby is in good hands. And it only took them a year.
