This family rescued and adopted a one-of-a-kind pet in Peabody.
Peabody, fondly called Pea, is a dwarf horse. Everything about Pea is unique, even his story. Faith’s friend called her up one day, saying they had a dwarf pony and that he was so small, he couldn’t reach his mother’s udder. She also noted that this pony has crooked legs and an unaligned jaw, making it difficult to eat.
Faith was told if she wanted him, she had to get him in two days.
She drove across the country in a heartbeat and had the little pony in her arms. She cleaned him up – bathed and all – and tucked in a hotel. The moment they fed Pea, they saw how the little pony wanted to live.
That’s how Faith knew Pea belonged to their family.
It was not an easy road for Faith and her husband, Adam, but they knew they should give this little guy the best life possible. Pea underwent therapy for his leg. He would stumble and fall, but a few weeks in, he learned to walk straight – and even run around.
Peabody adjusted well in their family.
They made some special shoes for his legs so he could walk around comfortably. As he grew, his jaws also aligned, which made it easier for him to eat. And look at how he joins them at the dining table sitting on Daddy’s lap! He is living his best life.
Peabody is both ‘an angel and a devil’ according to Faith.
He was a joy to watch as he ran around their garden and even inside their house. He plays with his dog siblings as if he was a dog, too. Plus, his cute little antics brought smiles to their faces.
But don’t mistake him for all that goodness!
According to Faith, one of the things he’s fond of doing is to take anything (literally anything) and throw them out anywhere inside the house. She’d sometimes find the contents of her handbag lying anywhere on the floor as if a tornado hit it. Oh, but it was only Pea!
Pea is also such a sweetheart and loves his daddy so much.
He often follows him around, even on his way to work. Faith would often find the two lying around, cuddling on the sofa. Indeed, he is such a sweet pea.
Sadly, Pea grew sick around late September and couldn’t make it.

They noticed that Pea started to lose weight, not eat, and didn’t seem like his usual playful self. They called the vet and learned that he had a liver malfunction. Both Faith and Adam did everything they could to save Pea but unfortunately lost him.
They paid tribute to Peabody and the sweet life he lived.

Words of comfort, love, and support poured all over their Instagram and TikTok accounts. The couple could not imagine how many people worldwide followed Pea’s life and that there were so many who loved him.
Despite this, Faith and Adam continued to care for mini (dwarf) horses like Pea.

They became a go-to therapy home for those who had crooked legs, like Pea. He may have lived a short life, but he lived it with a purpose that inspired many others.
A life well-lived, indeed!
