The elderly bear is part of a circus and has been away from her natural habitat for two decades.

She spends most of her days on circus tours where she can be seen in various countries.

She may be going around and meeting various audiences, but this bear is not free in any way.

She has been locked up for so long and knew only about being around people and not her kind.

After being in a circus, Chada was sold to a private individual who eventually abandoned her.

She was left in a tiny and worn cage in the industrial zone of the suburbs of Kyiv, Ukraine.

It took about seven years for animal activists to find her and finally give her the sweet taste of freedom.

Save Wild Foundation found the bear and its heartbreaking condition and did what they could to free the bear and give it the medical attention it needs. Chada was 25 years old when the rescuers found her.

The bear had lost almost all her teeth and was not well upon her rescue.

Chada was in poor health, and she was very weak.

She is pretty old, and her sight was almost gone when rescuers found her.

She was eventually brought to the wildlife Ukrainian sanctuary, where she was free to roam the grounds.

The first time she was released was an emotional time for her rescuers.

That moment was the very first time that Chada experienced touching the grass and playing in the water.

The sanctuary is filled with wolves and bears they have saved from the circus and their dire situations after being abandoned by their owners.

Their mission is to help as many animals as possible.

Chada is one of the bears they have helped, and because of their efforts, this bear has finally experienced how it is to be free and loved.

The bear now loves to play in the water and take naps in the grass.

She may have waited such a long time to be freed, but she is finally in a better home filled with food, lots of space to be in, and new friends and family.

Truly, Chada is a strong bear that has suffered a lot — from the moment she was born to the many years she spent lonely days and nights in captivity.

She has finally found freedom, and we are happy she is in good hands now.
