There are some animals that are just guaranteed not to get on with each other.
Take cats, for example. Cats might be small and cute, but since they’ve evolved from a time where they had to hunt and kill for their food, these traits still live within them.
A cat cannot be trusted around pretty much every animal. From birds to mice, dogs and snakes- even if the animal is bigger or more dangerous than the cat, they will still be keen to test out their hunting skills.
Because of a cat’s predatory instincts, it’s not often that you see cats and birds hanging out together.
But sometimes, exceptions can be made – as this next story proves.
Kurdish farmer and soldier Goran A Surchi was out tending to his chickens when he heard meowing coming from inside the coop. Worrying that his chickens could be in danger, he immediately went to investigate- and was surprised at what he found.
One of Goran’s chickens seemed to be hiding something under her wing. As the farmer got closer, he realized that it wasn’t chicks – but kittens!
Goran was amazed, and he immediately pulled out his camera to capture the initial moment that he took a closer look.
Lifting the hen, he found one ginger and white kitten, and two others that were brown and white. They were all tiny, and couldn’t be more than a few weeks old.
The mother hen was going a good job of keeping them warm, and they all seemed quite happy to be snuggled up under her feathers.
“For some time now, I was hearing meows coming from our chicken coop and I was curious to know what was going on, as our chickens could be in danger. When I realized that the meows were coming from under the chicken, I decided to record it so as not to miss this unique moment and to my surprise, there were three beautiful kittens there,” Goran told Bored Panda.
The mother of the kittens was nowhere to be seen, so despite the kittens being absolutely nothing like the babies she was normally used to taking care of, the hen had quite literally taken them under her wing.
Goran posted the video onto his TikTok, @goran.surchi, and the short clip immediately went viral. It now has over 350k views and 28.4k likes.
People soon began to ask if the mother of the kittens had been found, and Goran shared some sad news:
