One day, Michigan-based artist Emma Ward was hanging out with her pet chameleon Olive. As Emma played with Olive, she came to a brilliant realization: chameleons will hold onto anything that you give them. Emma gave her chameleon some tiny props, and she posted the photos on Twitter.
The adorable images of the chameleon holding various objects quickly went viral.

After the Tweet went viral, Emma explained the idea behind her photos to Chron.com:
“Knowing she likes to grasp anything that goes in her hands, I thought Lego swords and Evangelion weapons would be an interesting idea.”
Twitter users absolutely adore Olive. One person drew fanart of Olive on an adventure with her ax.
Another Twitter user drew a sketch of Olive with her sword.
Redditors have also gotten in on the action, and they’ve started photoshopping Olive into classic movie and TV scenes.
Here’s Olive facing down Flynn Rider in “Tangled…”
…and here’s Olive fighting in the Night’s Watch in “Game of Thrones.”
Another Redditor decided that Olive would look perfect holding a lightsaber. This photo proves that Olive would make a great villain in the next “Star Wars” movie!
Other chameleon owners were inspired by Emma, and they gave their chameleons little objects to hold. One chameleon held a Danish flag…
…and another chameleon held onto a toy gun.
It turns out, it’s not just chameleons who will hold onto any object you give them: flying squirrels do the same thing!
Twitter user @SCP_DrMugimeshi shared photos of their adorable flying squirrel holding onto Evangelion weapons and a little pitchfork.
