One morning, a woman in the UK took her dog for their usual walk. But along the way, something very unexpected happened: she found nine abandoned cats.
As the woman and her dog were walking along some train tracks, they passed by an old suitcase. The woman didn’t think anything of it, but her dog stopped to sniff the suitcase. As they stood there, the woman heard faint meowing. She opened the suitcase and found a mama cat and her eight five-week-old babies.
The woman took the cats home and called her local RSPCA. Animal welfare officers came and picked the cats up. The mother cat was thin and dehydrated, and she was rushed into intensive care where she was put on a drip. She has now recovered and is with her babies at the RSPCA. The kittens were all thin but in good health, and they’re all doing well in their new temporary home.
It will be awhile before the little family is ready for adoption—the RSPCA wants to make sure the mama cat and her babies are all healthy and strong before they find them their forever homes. For now, they’re happy spending their time cuddling together.
It was an amazing stroke of luck that the woman and her dog found these poor abandoned cats. Thanks to them, the cats will be able to spend their lives in loving homes!
