Cats aren’t always considered the ‘heroic’ house pet, but this fearless feline will undoubtedly change your mind.

It was a typical day in Bakersfield, California, when a young toddler, Jeremy, was riding his bike on his driveway. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a neighbor’s dog ran and ambushed the young boy, gripping its teeth into the skin on Jeremy’s calf.

Within moments, Jeremy’s house cat, Tara, came to the rescue, sprinting towards the dog and chasing it away from the boy and completely off the family’s property.

Soon after, Jeremy’s mother ran to the scene, attempting to process the events that occurred.

Luckily, the entire incident was caught on a home surveillance video, verifying the courageous act of the family’s house cat.

Jeremy’s parents adopted Tara 5 years ago, when the furry feline followed the pair home from the park. The family states that since Jeremy was a baby, he and Tara have had a special relationship, with Tara jumping in his crib and curling up next to him at night.

Jeremy and his family are grateful for Tara’s act of heroism during a critical situation, with Jeremy exclaiming, “She’s a hero!”
