It was love at first sight when a shelter cat saw an elegant steed the moment he was brought to his new home. The two have formed a bond so strong that no one could tear it apart. Jennifer Boyle shares this wholesome story on the internet and everyone who has read it has loved it.
Here is how this unusual animal friendship started.
It started on the fateful day when Jennifer Boyle decided to take home a cat from a rescue shelter. The cat’s name is Morris and he has piercing green eyes and pitch-black fur. However, despite his intimidating appearance, he is one sweet feline.
The moment Jennifer and Morris got to her home in Northern NSW, Australia, a steed named Champ insisted on becoming friends with the cat.
“He was immediately interested in him and came up to say hello and was persistent in wanting to groom him,” Jennifer shared.
Morris wholeheartedly accepted the friend and they have become inseparable ever since.
The best friends’ morning routine.
The curious cat attempted to jump on Champy’s back and surprisingly, the horse did not shake him off. He never paid any mind at the weight on his back; instead, he gave Morris a ride around the paddock. Ever since that day, Jennifer noticed that this has become their morning routine as friends.
Before the sunlight fully shines down at their home, Morris is already there at his spot at the fence (Jennifer dubbed it as his “bus stop”) and waits for his noble steed (the bus) to take him for a ride across the farm. Before the ride, they would first greet each other with friendly licks, and when both are set, Morris then climbs on Champy’s back.
The adorable and friendly bus has been doing this routine for years.
Jennifer got used to the sight of her cat riding on Champy’s back. Their friendship was becoming more like the relationship between the rhinoceros and the tick bird, wherein the tick bird rides on the rhino’s back in exchange for clearing his annoying ticks.
In Morris and Champy’s case, Morris would pay his ride by grooming Champy’s long mane as well as giving him affection. For seven whole years, Morris and Champy have been doing the same sweet routine; sometimes with costumes, especially if there is a special occasion like Halloween.
Apparently, Morris tried climbing on other horses’ back but was rejected.
Morris was used to climbing on his partner’s back after all and so he decided to do the same with the other horses. However, the other horses’ reactions had not been quite kind to him.
“He has been bucked off trying to jump on to other horses — he assumed all horses would love him — it really is just these two who are friends,” Jennifer told the Daily Telegraph.
Their sweet friendship reached the internet and the reactions are purely wholesome.
Morris and Champy’s unique friendship was heard throughout the internet as Jennifer uploaded clips of them on YouTube. Photos have circulated the web as well showing the two of them during the bright sunrise, or posing with their adorable costumes. The two have become quite a phenomenon, and hopefully, we could see more of this duo in the future.
