We all wonder what happens when we leave out pets at home. Do they have secret societies like in “The Secret Life of Pets,” or do they just sleep? Or maybe worse, do they get sad and miss their owners and friends really badly? Well, with the technology we now have, we are able to look in the secret life of our pets and see what they do in their free time.
With new technology people are using, they are dropping in on their pets.
One girl decided she was going to film her cat at home alone. What was originally pretty funny and cute quickly turned sad. Ida Myrin is the owner and set up a camera to film her little fluffball of a friend. When they first leave (and it’s only for 30 min, mind you) the cat gets the leash from the other room and decides that she wants to go with her family.
Walking around with the leash, she is basically saying, “wait! I want to go with you!”
It is super cute and even a little sad. Walking around and meowing, the white cat looks for his owners all around the house, hoping they are just hiding. After realizing that they are gone, she drops the leash and sits idly, waiting for them to come home. It is a pretty sad look! Who knew that our pets wanted to come with us in the world, even our cats!
The cat’s name is Isola and he is three years old.
Ida got him when he was just a kitten. She told Bored Panda:
“He is kinda spoiled and lazy, but also loving. He always demands our attention and yells every time he doesn’t get it. He’s always moving so that he can see us both, he loves a good cuddle, but hates faces. When he was a kitten he often stopped what he was doing to randomly hit the floor instead and he has NO ball control. We also think that he is a bit claustrophobic. He loves feet. LOVES.”
What is the solution to a sad cat?
Well, many people would recommend a second one. On Reddit, people flocked to let Ida know that she needed another cat to keep Isola from being lonely. The issue is that Ida already has another cat! The whole reason that Ida left was to take the other cat to the vet. It was one of those rare circumstances where they weren’t both at home.
It is a good reminder of how much our pets care for us.
For our dogs and cats, we are pretty much their whole world. When we leave, they really don’t have much else to do but sit around and wait for us. No wonder they are often so excited to see us when we get home!
When Ida finally got home, Isola was a bit angry.
Maybe it was because they took the other cat with them, but Isola was a bit angry. Ida said:
“He didn’t even come to say hi (like he usually ALWAYS does), but went straight to the other cat to smell him.”
Hopefully, he doesn’t hold a grudge!
