Cats can bring such a lot of happiness into our lives with their furry little faces, sweet meows, and unpredictable antics, but for every happy house cat, there are countless more strays and feral cats, forced to fend for themselves in the wild!

The population of feral cats is growing bigger and bigger by the day in many areas, even with the efforts of animal rescue organizations that try to catch and spay as many strays as possible.

Approaching a feral cat can be quite tricky, as they’re naturally quite suspicious of humans and may have been hurt in the past, but if you show a lot of patience, care, and love, you can win them over, as this video shows!

The cute clip shows a man named Lex trying to tame a feral cat called Cinnabon.

Over the course of many months, Lex showed a lot of love and care for little Cinnabon. He built him a small wooden house out on his deck and fed him whenever he came calling.

Over time, as Cinnabon saw that Lex was someone he could trust, the bond between them began to grow, building up to this fateful day when Lex finally encouraged Cinnabon to step inside.

Even though Lex and Cinnabon were more or less buddies by this point, the cat was still a little worried about crossing the threshold, and Lex had to be very patient to ease his feline friend through the door.

First, he nestled down and tossed a treat just in front of the door so that Cinnabon had to step in and eat it.

But as soon as Cinnabon finished the snack, he went straight back outside, too scared to stay in any longer. Then Lex prepared a second treat, keeping it in his hand and holding it out, hoping the cat might come and eat it.

Cinnabon was still a little too much of a scaredy cat to walk such a long distance to Lex’s hand, so Lex tossed the treat down and let the little fluffball grab it himself.

As soon as he spots the treat on the floor, Cinnabon seems to forget his fear, leaping into the home and snatching at the snack.

And once he’s inside, he starts to take a look around, curiously inspecting different pieces of furniture and strolling around the home.

He’s still clearly a little bit scared, moving his head up and down to see as much as possible, cautiously taking one step after another and checking that the coast is clear.

Eventually, he spots a little shadowy spot under the table that seems safe and starts heading under there while Lex watches on happily and gently talks to him.

It’s a super cute moment, and the story only gets better from there as Lex actually managed to pet Cinnabon for the first time a few moments later and has now officially adopted him. The pair are the best of friends, and you can follow all of their adventures on Instagram and YouTube.
