People often associate camels with the desert (obviously).

Camels are often called the “ships of the desert,” and the largest population of wild camels live in the Gobi desert.

They are highly valued as pack animals, and their milk, wool, hides, and meat are often used by people.

We’ve all seen photos of people riding camels while visiting Dubai or read about how some cultures, such as the Bedouin of the Arabian peninsula, depend entirely on camels.

What people typically don’t see are camels frolicking in the snow.

This is probably why people loved seeing Albert the camel, a dromedary who lives in Rancho Grande in California, have a great time in the snow. A dromedary camel has only one hump.

Rancho Grande is a private, 200-acre, fully-sustainable reserve in Ojai, California.

It is a unique, off-the-grid, cattle ranch established in 1870 that now accepts visitors who can stay in luxury tents or log cabins. Guests can also enjoy the outdoors,

Off-the-grid means Rancho Grande makes its own electricity and has its own deep underground water supply.

The ranch is also home to a wide variety of animals, including alpacas, goats, chickens, lambs, and of course, Albert the camel.

You can tell how happy and excited he is to be frolicking in the snow.

After he played by himself in the snow, Albert went to fetch the goats to show them the snow too.

Albert walked ahead of them, and they followed him walking through the ranch. The scene was straight out of a winter wonderland.

Dozens of goats followed Albert, and they all walked through the snow together.

He showed them his favorite spots on the ranch and stopped by some of them.

The goats followed him around and enjoyed the snow. Albert looked happy just to be in the snow.

It’s rare to see so many goats following a camel around. At the Rancho Grande, the animals live harmoniously together.

The video has caught the attention of a number of netizens.

“Oh Albert! Your excitement gives us such joy. We want to come to visit you again! But until then, enjoy the snow!” said one comment.

Another comment said, “This is absolutely the most pure thing I have seen in a long time, thank you so much for sharing this gift to the world. It is a better place with Albert in it.”

We agree with them wholeheartedly. It is so nice to see how Albert is enjoying himself in the snow. It’s also amazing to see how the goats just follow Albert, no questions asked.

While it is unusual to see camels away from the desert, Albert looks happy to be in his beautiful home.

If you want to get away and meet Albert yourself, visit the Rancho Grande in California. Here, you’ll have the chance to interact with animals and spend time outdoors. Guests can enjoy hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, and more.
