Leo desperately wanted a home, where he could feel safe and loved. And he went after that dream with the tenacity others would find difficult to muster. In Ankara, Turkey, street cats are everywhere, so finding a loving home is a fight.

But this street cat was not put off by that. He took matters into his own hands, or rather, paws.

Bercu, an animal rescuer in Ankara, fed this sneaky cutie every day until Leo decided he wanted more than food. He jumped in Bercu’s car and promptly made himself at home by dozing off.

Eventually, he woke up but refused to leave, and Bercu did not have the heart to make him. So she found him a home with his new mom, Yagmur.

His rescue was heard all around the neighborhood and now other people are rescuing cats and kittens off the street by inviting them into their cars.
