Our dogs could get bored and silly some of the time, especially when we are not there. There are times when their playfulness turns into destructiveness, leaving you astonished after seeing the mess your dog has done while you are away. As we try to discipline them, either they get more stubborn or apologize. The latter could be seen in this particular dog after he did something wrong at home.
Frisky bulldog and a slipper.
One day, Boomer the bulldog was left at home to guard it while the family went out somewhere. Perhaps he got so bored with waiting that he decided to look for something to play with. In his search, he found a lone slipper and grabbed it with his mouth. The moment the family got back home, they just saw the mess of the chew, full of slobber slipper lying on the floor. The family confronted Boomer, and he gave them the saddest puppy face the family had ever seen.
A heart-melting apology.
Boomer sat on the chair beside her mom while wearing the saddest look as if he was about to cry. You would not have the guts to scold your dog after you see them with their guilty face. Just like with Boomer, the woman just could not bear to see their lovely pooch trying to apologize for chewing on the slipper.
What’s more, the apologetic pooch put his paw slowly on the woman’s arm as if he was saying, “I promise I won’t do it again.” The family just could not leave him begging like that so the woman gave him a smooch on the head as a sign that he was forgiven. The whole scene was just so precious that someone could cry with Boomer’s cuteness.
The sorry dog’s face was seen all over the internet.
The family was able to tape the whole scene and they decided to share the wholesomeness on the web. Rowena Caperton, Boomer’s mom, uploaded the 25-second clip on YouTube in August this year. Since then, the video has already garnered more than 800,000 views on the platform. Who knows how many more in the next following months? If you want to see more of the precious Boomer’s adventures, just check him out on Rowena’s channel, as she never forgets to share short videos of him.
Guilt in dogs.
This certain topic has grown big over the years and is still a popular topic of debate. Do dogs actually feel guilt, or not? Many researchers and animal behaviorists have been looking for the answer but the majority tells us that they really do not. Dogs are smart and they could comprehend simple emotions like sadness or happiness.
However, guilt is another question as this is one of the complicated emotions that one would not expect to see in animals, not even in dogs. When you see them with their droopy ears, puppy eyes, with their heads bowed down, it is just them reacting to you when you scold them.
If you caught them in the act the second time, they would probably feel the same but only because they are afraid of being scolded again. Although, we just could not deny the fact that they indeed look guilty sometimes.
