A regal German Shepherd named Baron is absolutely smitten with his human – a 4-year-old boy named Alexander.
Baron and Alexander have one of those relationships that you might see in a movie. The loyal and loving dog is always there when Alexander (also known as Zander) wakes up, comes home from being out of the house, and, of course, when he goes to bed. Baron constantly wants to be by Zander’s side.

In fact, it’s Baron and Alexander’s bedtime routine that has caught the attention of people around the globe. You might have heard of pets assisting their owners with tasks around the house, but Baron prefers to take on more of a caretaker role.
Every single night, Zander spends a special moment with Baron when the furry angel kisses him and tucks him into bed.
Sounds like a pretty adorable nighttime routine, right? Before Alexander gets his kiss and a tuck-in, the duo first needs to say their prayers. Once they’ve given thanks and sent their hopes to the heavens, Zander hops into bed and Baron takes care of the rest.
Once Zander is all snuggled up in his bed, the wet, sloppy kisses commence. And then? Baron will even turn off the lights for the little boy! How incredible smart is this dog? We’re so impressed!
Baron and Alexander do almost everything together – even helping with the chores.
Not only does the adorable pair have the cutest bedtime routine we’ve ever seen, but Baron also helps Zander with tasks and chores around the house. From putting toys away to helping load the dishwasher, Baron really is a wonderful helper. In fact, he even helps the parents make coffee!
It’s no surprise that a dog like Baron is so smart and helpful. German Shepherds are known to be extremely intelligent and loyal dogs. They’re a wonderful breed to raise alongside children and will always be your protector.
It’s no wonder German Shepherds are often used as police K-9s, service dogs, guard dogs, bomb-sniffing dogs, and more.
According to the AKC, “Generally considered dogkind’s finest all-purpose worker, the German Shepherd Dog is a large, agile, muscular dog of noble character and high intelligence. Loyal, confident, courageous, and steady, the German Shepherd is truly a dog lover’s delight.”
So, it’s no surprise that Baron has taken on the role of protector and aid in the household! And now, it turns out the Zander also has two other German Shepherds to help protect him since the video below was filmed.
Zander is now 9-years-old and his parents bred Baron for puppies. Now, they also have Audi and Arlo to join as furry bodyguards.
Ever since the precious bedtime video below went viral, Baron and Zander received a lot of attention. They now have an Instagram account (which includes Audi and Arlo too!) where you can keep up with all of their cute adventures and antics.
And even though the video might be a few years old now, there’s no denying that Baron and Zander are the cutest pair ever. They might have new additions to the family, but one thing is for certain – they’ll be best buds until the end.
