“Olive – focused, relentless, tasting absolutely nothing!”
That’s just one of many hilarious, quick-witted commentaries that a “bored” sports broadcaster gives during his play-by-play of two dogs racing to eat their food.
The Doggy Kibble Run – a sport that no one knew they desperately needed, but now everyone wants more.
Sports fans everywhere are bored out of their minds now that the recent corona outbreak has put a halt to all games around the world.
With everything on temporary hiatus, what’s a prominent BBC sports journalist like Andrew Cotter supposed to do? Invent a brand new form of armchair entertainment, of course!

“The Hungry Games” for doggos is on!
It takes a lot of natural talent to become a successful broadcaster. There is no practicing what you’re going to say ahead of time, not when events are happening right in front of you, live and uncut.
With fast, on-the-fly talk that can only be attributed to years of experience, Andrew managed to turn something as inane as a pair of pups eating their kibble into a gripping, edge-of-your-seat competition that you will never, ever forget!
“Mabel, heavy tail use. Happy to be alive.”
Andrew, who usually covers sports like golf and rugby, thought it was be amusing to film his two Labrador pups, Mabel and Olive, during mealtime.
Like most of us, he was on lockdown and his brain was about to explode with boredom. So he found a new way to use his talents, and we absolutely love him for it!
The Scottish sportscaster had no idea that the video he posted on his Twitter feed would go viral. But since everyone is starving for entertainment, it racked up 5 million views in its first 24 hours!
And it’s no wonder. How could people not love hearing him make witty quips about two dogs gobbling up their food?
This guy doesn’t even pause to think before he talks – his comedic genius is 100% natural.
“Olive, more steady, wasting little energy…very much of the old Labrador schooling. Eating is a serious business, don’t bollocks around wagging your tail.”
Just like all sporting events, there are even the usual hecklers in the crowd interrupting his commentary. A cheeky female voice can be heard barking “get on with it” after Andrew takes too much time introducing the two adorable opponents.
“Nothing left but the bowl to lick now.”
As the two dogs go head to head and make a run for their food, there’s a problem with Mabel’s bowl and she hesitates before digging in.
In the end, she had to play catch-up and it may have cost her the championship title.
Mabel, doesn’t seem too upset. A little class there from the youngster, generous, in what will surely be defeat.”
In this dog-eat-dog-food world, will it be Mabel or Olive who reigns supreme as the ultimate Good Girl?
With almost 9 million views to date, it’s safe to bet that people are absolutely obsessed with the Internet’s latest celeb sports stars.
