Life can be a pretty crazy thing when you’ve not long been in the world. Could you imagine what it feels like to look at something for the first ever time? For a baby, each day is a new adventure, a chance to see and do new things, and probably a pretty fun experience. So when a 10-month-old baby met a 10-week old puppy for the first ever time, the meeting was bound to be memorable.
Despite there being around an 8 month age gap between the pair, if we think about dog to human age conversions, then actually, the puppy is around the same age in human years as the baby.
A quick Google search told us that an 8-week-old puppy is equivalent to a 9-month-old baby, which means that technically, the two are both around the ten month age mark when they meet.
Naturally, when the baby and dog first lay eyes on each other, it’s an interesting experience for both. The puppy simply cannot stop barking as he looks over at the baby, and the little girl in turn finds the whole thing hilarious! Somebody was able to capture the pair’s meeting on camera, and it’s the most adorable thing we’ve seen today.
The video, titled, “FIRST MEETING BABY vs BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG PUPPY” was posted onto YouTube by Bernd van den Bos, and has gained over 3.6 million views since being posted back in 2017. Captioned, “10 month old baby and 10 weeks old Bernese Mountain Dog checking each other out,” the video features the most adorable looking black, tan and white Bernese Mountain puppy sitting to the left, and an equally adorable baby girl sitting to the right.
At first, the two simply stare at each other in silence, then the puppy lets out a sudden bark.
The noise is enough to startle the baby, who jumps so hard that her whole body moves! But instead of bursting into tears, the baby does something truly adorable, and begins to laugh! The whole family laugh along with her, and the dog turns to the camera as if to say, “I really don’t know what’s so funny.”
Each time the puppy barks, the baby jumps and then laughs, and it truly is such an adorable moment. Hilariously, despite being the bigger of the two, the pup seems to be the nervous one, while the baby seems totally calm and collected! We’d bet she’s going to grow up to be completely fearless (and no doubt an animal lover, too).
