As long as you’re careful, bears are rarely as dangerous as you might think. Take the bears in this video for example, who are simply looking for a way to relax on a peaceful day.
A swing of our own
The video opens and shows a set of three bears milling about on top of a hammock. The largest bear, presumably the mother, is lying in the center, while the two smaller cubs shift and move around. You can see a torn bit of nylon, where the bears likely chewed through it while exploring this strange new addition to their woods.
One of the bears ends up outside of the hammock and seems determined to get back in. It paws at the hammock, paws at the momma bear, and makes a big nuisance of itself since it’s not part of the fun. The other smaller bear ignores its neighbors as it seems content with swinging in the breeze at the end of the hammock.
The littlest bear
Keep an eye on the bear on the right. You’ll see it bother the momma bear with pats, nose pokes, and other actions to get her attention. As the momma bear sits up, you can almost hear the exasperation and imagine her saying “What is it honey?”
The two bears poke and prod at each other as the momma bear gives all the attention it can. It’s actually real sweet seeing how much the mother bear fawns on it’s young and is certainly worth a watch to see. But make sure you watch the hammock.
The tumble blunder
As the momma bear moves closer to the edge, the hammock rises on the other side. The young bear still in the hammock is just minding it’s own business, enjoying the breeze. But then, the mother bear slides off and the hammock flips all the way around. The poor bear is thrown from its spot leaving him to fall towards the ground.
But since the mother bear never looks away, we can assume that there’s no cause for alarm. The fallen bear collects itself then staggers back to its feet. He was enjoying that hammock and he doesn’t want to give it up just yet.
Let me in
The bear stands on its foot paws and pads at the hammock looking for an easy way to get back in. It’s search takes him all around the hammock and to its siblings side. Both bears then mess with the hammock as they work to figure out how they work so they can get back to lounging in the sun.
Meanwhile, the mother bear lays on its side and looks around. We don’t know if the mother bear was tired of the hammock or just felt like letting her young have fun, but she looks positively relaxed as she sits. Eventually, the children do manage to get into the hammock, and the bear mom just looks towards the camera as the video cuts.
