Have you ever thought about what animals want to do all day? You might be thinking that animals just eat, sleep, and hunt all day, and no one would blame you. But some animals like Bruiser the Bear just love having fun at the pool.
Bruiser comes from an endangered species, but found help from one kind animal lover
Bruiser the Bear is a Syrian Brown Bear who lives in the Single Vision Wildlife Sanctuary as an educational animal. Like all the educational animals currently staying at Single Vision, Bruiser is a member of an endangered species.
The owner, Carl Bovard, wants guests to see these rare and beautiful animals up close. He hopes that visitors will learn more about these endangered species and will help support worldwide initiatives to keep these species from dying out.
There are a lot of reasons to have a bear-sized pool
So why build a pool for the bear?
Bruiser’s pool is an excellent way to keep the bear cool during hot Florida summers. It’s also a way that the bear can keep fit from playing and swimming around all day. More importantly for guests, who can deny the fun of seeing a bear splashing around with a big wide smile on his face?
Watch the surprising things this bear does
But educating humans isn’t the only part of this experience. Bruiser has learned some surprisingly human behaviors thanks to his daily interactions with the pool.
He climbs up the pool’s ladder to get to the top. Then, he clambers over to a diving position for his big leap and splash into the pool. You can almost imagine the anticipation for anyone lucky enough to see this bear’s athletic trick.
Bruiser makes a big splsah, in the only way he knows how
The bear wastes no time in leaping from the edge of the pool. Who has time for a careful dip into the water when a big splash is all the more fun!
And check out Bruiser’s 5 star belly flop. Such perfect form as he flies through the air for a big cool dunk in the pool. It almost makes you want to dive in and yell cannonball!
Watching Bruiser at play is one of the most relaxing activities around
Bruiser then swims around the large pool. Playing with the surfboard and just enjoying a nice summertime dip. The bear even has a big smile on his face like a big kid enjoying the first swim of the season.
Bruiser’s always loved water and this is proof
But don’t think that Bruiser’s love of the water started with the enclosure pool. This video shows the bear having a blast sitting beneath running water splashing his head. Fron frolicking and rolling his paws over the spray all the way to brushing water out of his face. Bruiser is living his best life doing what many people do in a comfortable and relaxing shower.
A pool for two? Why not!
But Bruiser isn’t a selfish bear. He shares the pool with other bears in the sanctuary. It’s just the most lovely thing to see, since clearly both animals are having a wonderful time.
Florida is the place to be to watch bears in the water
At the end of the day, Bruiser’s poolside adventures are all about keeping him fit, happy, and safe. He gets the water he loves and plenty of space to swim around and watch the day go by.
