Most of us have experienced becoming drowsy in class, perhaps because of an uninteresting discussion, or maybe we stated up late the night before. Whatever the reason, it keeps us from being focused at school and sometimes we end up snoozing during a lecture. However, humans are not the only ones who feel this way.
There are plenty of times that we see adorable animals getting drowsy in front of us.
Sometimes, it’s hard for animals to fight off their sleepiness, just like humans. The only difference is, our sleepy faces sometimes look funny, especially when we are trying to stay awake. On the other hand, animals are just too adorable whether you catch them napping or watch them desperately trying to hold back their drowsiness. That’s just the case for this adorable duckling!
This student managed to sneak a duckling into one of his classes.
A student snuck a baby duck named Dexter into an accounting class he was attending. Fortunately, the duck did not make that much noise that could get them into any sort of trouble. The duckling just quietly sat beside his owner’s notebook binder on his desk while the instructor lectured. However, due to the calm atmosphere, with only the instructor’s soft voice reverberating in the room, the duckling couldn’t help but feel relaxed.

As Dexter was listening to the lecture, he couldn’t help his eyes from closing. His head kept falling but he managed to get himself up to avoid completely sleeping. The duckling chirps lightly to tell his owner that he is awake. But he couldn’t keep the act up as the drowsiness would always catch up to him.
Accounting isn’t for everyone, especially Dexter.
Hearing about accounting for an hour or two while sitting idly would make anyone bored, even Dexter. It would have been fun if the lecture was more interactive, but some days, it just doesn’t work like that.
While Dexter listens to the lecturer muttering words that he doesn’t understand himself, the sleepy duck probably wished on being out in the pond playing with his friends.
The desperate duck tried his best to stop himself sleeping, but eventually, he gave in to the drowsiness. At the end of the video, he got up and tried to go for a walk to battle his sleepiness. However, in his drowsy state, the duckling slipped and fell from the desk. Fortunately, his owner was able to catch Dexter,
The 43-second video of the duckling fending off sleepiness was viewed more than 9 million times.
YouTuber ChloeBroomfield1995 uploaded the clip in May 2012, and since then, the video managed to rack up over 9 million views. It shows that plenty of people around the world appreciate these kinds of animal videos. It’s almost impossible not to be charmed by the baby duck. Plenty of students could also relate to feeling drowsy in lectures.
