A lot of the elephant species are slowly becoming endangered. Aside from them being common poaching victims because of their ivory tusks, some elephants had an unfortunate past of being overworked, forced into a lifetime of labor.
Thankfully, today there are people and organizations that are willing to save these animals.

There are plenty of organizations around the world that are dedicated to saving the dying Elephant species, like the African, Sumatran, and Asian elephants. One of them is Save Elephant Foundation, a non-profit rescue and shelter organization in Thailand.

This was founded by Sangdeaun Lek Chailert, a woman who put all her efforts to save their country’s symbols. She tirelessly pushed herself to the limits until her efforts were recognized in public.
One of the elephants they rescued was a victim of forced breeding.
They have once rescued an elephant who had a very unfortunate past. Her name is Sri Prae. When Sri Prae first came to Save Elephant Foundation’s Elephant Nature Park, they found that she had a damaged foot. It was caused by a landmine that she unfortunately stepped on while being forced to be a logger.
Unable to work anymore, she was forced into a breeding program. Despite that, she never became pregnant and so her previous owner had to try and sell her. Fortunately, a Dutch non-profit rescue organization, Bring the Elephant Home, rescued her and later brought her to ENP.
She was unable to give birth for many years until a miracle happened.
Probably because of the trauma, Sri Prae ignored the male elephants in the sanctuary. However, ENP speculated that she might already be pregnant when she first arrived. It did not take long for the staff to be surprised with an elephant calf hiding beneath Sri Prae. They named that calf Navaan. They considered him a miracle birth, knowing her history of many unsuccessful attempts in the past.
Navaan grows to be a healthy and active baby boy.
Sri Prae is a wonderful mother to him, and he’s able to live a happy life being in a safe environment as well. With the help of Sri Prae, the ENP staff, and the other elephants, Navaan was able to spend his early days with no worries. He’s just being a confident and playful elephant calf whose job was only to have fun under the sun.
ENP shows what he’s like during bath time.
The sanctuary’s elephants were given their turns to take a bath. Navaan had to take a bath together with his mother. The moment the little elephant saw the inflatable pool prepared for him he just couldn’t help but head towards it.
He took some time examining the pool of water while his mother already dipped her legs in it. Eventually, he became accustomed to it, and you could see him run back and forth in the pool to bathe himself. Sri Prae makes sure to accompany the playful calf in the water. At the end of the video, you could briefly see Sri Prae pulls Navaan’s trunk as if she was saying “bath time’s over.”
The video was so adorable that it’s not surprising how the internet was charmed by it.
Navaan and Sri Prae’s adorable bathing routine was uploaded on YouTube where it racked up over 8 million views. I mean who could resist watching this baby calf experience a bath in an inflatable pool? The entire video was just pure wholesomeness.

You might be wondering where Navaan is now. Well, he’s still spending his best life at the sanctuary along with the other elephants in the park that he made friends with. If you want to be updated on his adventures, check out ENP’s archive about him.
