It’s hard to believe anyone could take an innocent creature and just abandon it on the side of the road.
But that’s exactly what happened in San Jose, California, when a person set a little puppy in a cardboard box, placed it on the curbside, then walked away.
A woman named Ashley is the one who stumbled upon the heartbreaking sight.
She could hear the teeny creature’s cries coming from inside the box, and it was as if he were begging for help.
This puppy, weighing less than a pound, could easily nestle in Ashley’s palm, evoking an overwhelming desire to shield and nurture.
Ashley’s primary concern was to provide immediate care for this little one, believed to be around three weeks old.
Determining the right nourishment was a challenge.
Formula seemed a viable option, as did wet food.
Ensuring he consumed enough became Ashley’s top priority, given his delicate state.
As days unfolded, Ashley noticed that Jackson, as she lovingly named him, had challenges that extended beyond mere size.
Observations led to growing concerns about his health, prompting a visit to the vet.
The diagnosis was heart-wrenching: Jackson was effectively blind, had hearing impairments, and was anemic.
Yet, under Ashley’s diligent care and with the right medication, a remarkable transformation was witnessed.
Jackson, once frail and vulnerable, became snuggly and affectionate, often seeking solace curled up on Ashley’s chest.
Despite his challenges, Jackson’s spirit shone through.
His heightened senses became evident in his playful interactions, whether it was his playful growls or his tiny, endearing bouts of ‘viciousness’, all under Ashley’s watchful eye.
It’s horrible to think that someone could abandon a sweet and adorable pup like this.
Then, Jackson made a great friend.
A significant chapter in Jackson’s story was his introduction to Ashley’s cat, Dan.
Their bond was instantaneous and heartwarming.
Dan not only welcomed Jackson but also played a pivotal role in helping him adapt to his new environment.
Their camaraderie was a joy to witness.
Whether it was Dan gently guiding Jackson or the two indulging in playful tussles, under Ashley’s care, they formed an unbreakable bond.
Dan’s presence was instrumental in Jackson’s emotional and physical growth.
Although Jackson had a rough beginning, he’s now a vibrant, happy dog.

“He’s not just loved, but given everything that he needs possible to grow up big and strong and lead the happiest life.”
