Perhaps almost everyone could agree that puppies, kittens, and other baby animals are adorable. For that reason, most of us would want to keep one around the house. However, sadly, some people aren’t able to keep the pet, and the pet faces abandonment.
The pitiful state of some pets.
The responsibility might just be too overwhelming (financially or physically) for them, or there may be other circumstances that they could not take care of them anymore that they end up being left on the streets.
They’d be endlessly waiting for their owners to come back.
What’s crueler is that these animals have no idea of why they are being abandoned. They could only watch their owners’ backs as they move further away from them. Lucky for them, sometimes kind people or professional rescuers manage to get to them.
A dog shelter staff member passed by a lonely dog on their way home.
One day, a man was driving in his car when he happened to notice a peculiar sight. Upon closer inspection, what he saw was a lonely dog lying on dried grass. As soon as he tried to approach the pup slowly, the pup immediately perked up, showing him a very happy gesture.
The man realized that she was abandoned, and she was just probably waiting for someone to save her. Fortunately, this person works at a non-profit pet shelter, ‘Dog Rescue Shelter in Mladenovac.’ He might just be able to do something.
What they saw next caught them off guard.
The man became very busy trying to play with the dog, but despite the pup’s wagging tail, she still couldn’t trust them completely.
That was when the man noticed another dog behind her. When he moved closer to check it out, unfortunately, it wasn’t breathing anymore.
They must have been siblings that were abandoned together. He assumed that the other pup was hit by a car, causing it to tragically pass away. No wonder that the remaining sibling was left lonely.
It took time to get her trust, but they never gave up.
The energetic pup ran circles around him and elusively avoided his every attempt. The man then tried another approach – offering delicious food.
He grabbed a can of dog food from his car and tried to feed the pooch by hand. He knew how hungry the pup was, and despite being hesitant at first, she gobbled the food up immediately.
However, it didn’t make much of a difference. In fact, it became even more difficult by the minute.
He tried to call the dog once more, hoping that he could catch her this time.
It might just be his only chance at grabbing her, so the man bet his chances by calling her once more. The puppy went near him, excitedly sniffing the man’s gloves. In an instant, the man made his move by grabbing the back of her neck.
The scared pup yelped in surprise, but it was over in a second when she felt comfortable with the petting was giving her.
After saying goodbye to the brother, the pup was brought to a better place.
She didn’t deserve the life of being an abandoned dog. The man cleaned the puppy, fed her, and went to find a better home for her.
