You can’t count how many pets are abandoned every day by their owners all around the world. The number reaches millions every year, that it becomes too overwhelming for the shelters to take them in.
Furthermore, it’s quite shocking that the number of abandoned animals surpasses the number of strays who were put in animal shelters.
Bulgaria’s street is filled with strays and abandoned animals
Many stray animals can be observed on the streets, and it seems that the problem is far from being regulated. Even though there are some animal rescue and shelter organizations that help alleviate this problem, with the overwhelming number of animals, it’s nearly impossible to help them all.
Desperate to find a better home, this puppy began asking strangers to take him home.
In a street in Bulgaria, a couple named Stoyan and Dessy met a poor abandoned puppy who directly approached them. They were just waiting for something next to the groceries when this puppy happened to take an interest in them.
The puppy looked friendly and so they did not hesitate to cast their hand towards him. After they completed their errand, they left the puppy a few sausages in case he was hungry.
However, they noticed the little puppy started following them around.
The couple was probably heading towards their next destination, but the puppy decided to follow them around. The puppy was so persistent that no matter how much they walked, or tried to shake him off, he would continue to tail them. The poor puppy walked with them for quite a distance, and he’s clearly desperate to beg them for help.
The couple felt sorry for him and decided to do something about it.
After walking for such a long distance, the dog managed to follow the couple back to their home. Stoyan and Dessy can’t refuse the puppy’s begging look and they gave him a warm welcome to their home.
The puppy quickly became comfortable in his new home.
Though the puppy was hesitant to enter at first, the moment he stepped inside, a new chapter of his life began.
The couple gave him proper food, helped him quench his thirst, and even washed all the accumulated dirt and smell from him with a warm bath.
At the end of the day, the exhausted puppy fell on the floor and snored. Without anything to worry about anymore, the puppy had the soundest sleep.
This is not the first time that Stoyan and Dessy extended their help to the abandoned animals.
With no major actions taken by their local government about this underlying issue and despite not having an animal shelter, Stoyan and Dessy continue to do what they can to help animals find the perfect home for them.
There’s almost no limit to their kindness. They currently are taking care of four cats that they rescued from the streets, but they continue to bring another stray home and give it the care it deserves. Surely, they will also be able to find someone to adopt this poor puppy.
This will take them closer and closer to their dream.
They were able to do this much with the people supporting them through donations and by subscribing to their YouTube channel. The couple shares a dream of building an animal shelter in the future, so they could take care of more animals. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see them make their dreams a reality.
