Cows are gentle giants who share many lovable characteristic traits that are extremely similar, if not mimicked exactly, to a man’s best friend, the canine companion. Cows are incredibly sweet, intelligent, curious and playful creatures. People often mistaken them for not much else other than “barn yard” animals, which in and of itself, is an extremely sad and inhumane reality.

In a variety of recent research, studies have shown that cows may be smarter than what we give them credit for. Perhaps, even smarter than your dog! “Cows have extremely good memories. It has been found that they not only recognize faces, but they will remember faces even after a long period of time. The intelligent capabilities of cows doesn’t surprise Dr. Daniel Weary, a zoologist and professor at the University of British Columbia. “These are highly developed mammals that have been solving problems for a long, long time. If anything, it reflects poorly on us that we’re surprised that these animals are smart. Of course these animals are smart,” he explained to Huffington Post.
