Princess, a 3-legged dog, was living on top of a shoebox for about 5 months.
A good samaritan contacted Hope For Paws, a non-profit animal rescue in Los Angeles that rescues animals off the streets, and notified them that a stray dog was living outside of a house for 5 months and if they could help. Hope For Paws quickly responded and arrived at the scene to find this dog looking weak and laying on a shoebox.
The homeowners told Hope For Paws that she arrived a few weeks ago and they were feeding her ever since.
Princess watched Eldad, founder of Hope For Paws, and Loreta, a helpful friend, approach her slowly. She was friendly and didn’t growl or crouch away from her rescuers. She was covered in fleas and just wanted to be saved.
She was named Princess by Loreta because “she was going to be treated like royalty for the rest of her life.”
After she was given a nice warm bath, her doctors found out that she was suffering from severe anemia so she had to stay at the hospital for several weeks to receive treatment. Thankfully, Princess is doing much better and moved on to foster care. By watching her calm demeanor in the video, you can tell she is thankful and finally feeling safe.
Princess loves being adored, cuddled, and pet. She is currently living in a foster home with Smooch Pooch Rescue and waiting for a kingdom to call her own, Hope For Paws said.
