Everyone – meet Xherdan. He’s a wrinkly cat with striking eyes, and some might say he looks a bit…on the grumpy side.
Although Xherden might not be your typical looking cat with such unique characteristics, you certainly can’t deny the fact that he stands out. His mom, who started Xherdan’s Instagram account, is just obsessed with her furless baby.
“When I first saw him, he immediately stole my heart,” Sandra Filippi, Xherdan’s mom, told The Dodo. “He’s such a special baby boy.”
Xherdan is a Canadian sphynx, which is different than other sphynx cats in the fact that they are less slender and have more wrinkles.
Happily living in Switzerland, Zherdan has a home with two other sphynx cats, as well as a dog. Filippi says that he’s quite the ham and likes to get all of the attention he can get. And despite his ‘grumpy’ looking face, he’s quite the funny, silly, and loud guy.
“He is just like a child,” Filippi said. “He speaks a great deal in all pitches. When he’s excited, when he’s hungry, when he’s playing, or when he’s cuddling … He is always talking.”
Since Filippi started the Instagram account for her one-of-a-kind cat, he’s gained over 4,600 followers – a number that grows by the day.
When he’s not doing photo shoots with his mom, Xherdan loves to sit by the window and keep a watch out for any birds that might fly by. This is a hobby that Filippi says is extremely important to the Canadian sphynx.
“He watches everything,” Filippi explains. “He always wants to know what is going on, so he often just wants to be where his humans are.”
The nearly 5-year-old ‘scowling kitty’ likes taking photos in fun costumes and jewelry.
Filippi says that another hobby on Xherdan’s list is eating “a lot and everything.” Which, of course, makes him a cat after our own heart.
According to Wikipedia, “sphynxes are known for their extroverted behavior. They display a high level of energy, intelligence, curiosity, and affection for their owners. They are one of the more dog-like breeds of cats, frequently greeting their owners at the door and friendly when meeting strangers.”
“He is always distracting me when I’m trying to do something because I always have to look into his blue eyes and give him lots of cuddles,” Filippi boasts. “He is the most beautiful cat there is. And he always makes me laugh.”
His newfound followers can’t get enough of Xherdan’s permanently grumpy expression, wrinkly body, and sweet demeanor.
Despite that external scowl, it’s obvious that Xherdan is probably one of the happiest cats in the world.
