When Lauren Siler and Lisa Flores heard that a black senior Labrador retriever mix named Annie didn’t have much longer to live, they decided that the rest of her life would be the time of her life.
Annie even has a full bucket list she and her humans intend to check off before she passes on.
Annie could barely walk or eat when she was surrendered at a Dallas, TX, animal shelter at age 19.
She was given only one month to live.

But it’s been four months, and Annie is doing great after being adopted by roommates Lauren Siler and Lisa Flores.
“I was actually in Anchorage, Alaska, getting ready to board a flight back to [Dallas] and I saw her picture posted, that somebody posted that she was at the shelter, and they were asking for rescue support,” Siler told “Good Morning America.”
“When I landed back in Dallas, I showed Lisa Annie’s picture and she was like, ‘We have to get her.'”

Annie was taken in by The PAWerful Rescue in Royse City, Texas who was trying to find Annie a foster home.
The nonprofit explained that whoever fostered Annie would likely have a very short time with her.
Annie was taken to meet Siler and Flores and the roommates quickly fell in love with her.
They immediately decided they would foster Annie.

“In the beginning, we were just excited to love on her and have her,” Flores told TODAY.
“So we didn’t really think much about how hard it would be to let her go. I think we are just really focusing on the joy that she was bringing us at the time and just us enjoying loving on her and giving her all of these great experiences.”

Annie has been nothing but spoiled since she got to her foster home.
Her bucket list has included celebrating Christmas in July and getting bombarded with Valentine’s Day cards.
She’s also gone on a hamburger tour and a photoshoot with a professional photographer.
And she’s got to share these adventures with the roommates’ 18-year-old foster dog Tippy and Flores’ dog Jax, as well as Siler’s cats, Jenny and Moira.

“We’re gonna get them cute little chef outfits and let them make some homemade dog treats,” Siler said.
“And then I think that we’re gonna try to do a chicken nugget tour, similar to the hamburger tour.”

It sounds amazing.

Siler and Flowers say they are able to give Annie the care she needs thanks to the financial support of The PAWerful Rescue.
The PAWerful Rescue helps dogs that would otherwise be euthanized.
These dogs at usually found at shelters that can’t adopt them out or don’t have space for them.

“There are a lot of Annies out there. Fostering doesn’t cost the foster a dime. A good rescue will provide all the supplies you need, will take care of all medical expenses,” Rowe continued.
“A lot of senior dogs are on medication or need bloodwork regularly and people don’t want to take on that responsibility financially. So … a responsible rescue will take care of all the financial aspects of that dog.”
