We all sing to ourselves in the shower, while we’re alone in our cars, or when cleaning the house. Don’t pretend you don’t – I know you do.
And sometimes, our lucky pets get to be the audience members in our imaginary stadiums of screaming fans.
For most of them, they probably grin and bare it because they love us so unconditionally.
That is of course, unless you’re a good singer. But let’s be honest, most of us aren’t.
But for Malinda Herman’s lucky little chihuahua, Jiw Jam, she has one extremely talented owner who loves to sing.
The 69-year-old internet sensation recently went viral for her beautiful videos. She sings and plays guitar creating soft, lullaby-like covers, which she performs with her adorable little pup at her side.
She’s like a real life Snow White.
Recording videos from her home in Thailand, Malinda never expected to reach global recognition. But after a tragic car accident she has started on the road to recovery and is making more time to do what she loves.
“I got into an accident about 20 years ago where my car flipped over. The impact from the collision damaged my nerves and the left side of my face became paralyzed,” Malinda told Coconuts Bangkok.
She always loved to sing, and ended up using that as a way to help her face muscles loosen up and get back to normal after the accident. She started with some basic A-E-I-O-U exercises, and worked her way up until she was able to comfortably sing again.
As for her adorable dog, Malinda adopted her beloved Chihuahua by chance after the women at her hair salon were trying to help give some puppies away to a good home. Malinda hadn’t planned on bringing Jim Jaw back with her, but she followed her around forever until Malinda finally picked her up.
And the rest is history -she immediately realized it was meant to be.
The name Jiw Jam, can be loosely translated from Thai to mean “small and pretty”. And I couldn’t agree more! Just look at that little face.
One day when Malinda was cuddling with her pup, she picked up her guitar and started singing. Jiw Jam absolutely loved it and was quickly serenaded to sleep.
Since then, she’s been recording her covers with her dog at her side, and sharing them with the world.
She serenades the other animals in her house as well, but Jiw Jam is her biggest fan.
As you can imagine, her YouTube channel has absolutely blown up, and this video has been viewed more than 1.6 million times!
The comments section is ablaze with messages from adoring fans all over the world.
