We all know how much of a challenge it is to make our dogs stay put while we’re grooming them.

Bathing, blow-drying, clipping — you name it! They are just cheeky furballs with an endless pool of energy.

In grooming your dogs, it is important to understand your dog’s behavior and their reactions to certain things.

Reading these cues will help you identify whether your dog is reacting badly to the loud noise from the blow-dryer, or the unusual feeling of their nails being clipped.

Once identified, it is necessary to provide them with a distraction to successfully groom them without any problems. For a woman named Lindsey, peanut butter is the most efficient and effective way to distract her dog.

This clever peanut butter trick is just way too good.

Lindsey Shelton, an ICU nurse from California, shared a clip on social media of her using peanut butter to keep her dog occupied as she trimmed his nails.

You might think it is weird, but it is super effective when it comes to grooming her pet.

The video instantly went viral on TikTok and received over 2.4 million views. It also got over 5.7 million views and 78,600 thousand retweets on Twitter.

All you have to do is spread some peanut butter on your head.

Lindsey wrapped her head with cling wrap and took out the peanut butter. Some people hilariously mistook it for a hair dying tutorial at first, but little do they know is that it is really a genius life hack meant for dog owners.

She smeared the peanut butter on her cling wrap-covered forehead. Her husband was so confused about what she was doing and even commented that she looked like a dork.

“Oh, I look like a dork,” she responded. “I’m about to look like a genius!”

The plan was finally set in place, and it was time to test it on one of her dogs.

She bent down on the floor, making sure the peanut butter was both noticeable and easily reachable by her dog. At first, the dog glanced anxiously at the nail clippers as if he already knows what was about to happen.

However, Lindsey was able to divert her dog’s attention toward the peanut butter. The dog began licking the peanut butter as Lindsey clipped his nails. She gasped in surprise when she realized that her idea was successful.

The clip received lots of positive feedbacks from the internet as people began trying it with their dogs.

Plenty of people found it so awesome and brilliant that they were encouraged to try it for themselves. They shared their results too, thanking Lindsey as her idea miraculously worked wonders.

One person claimed that it was the only effective way they’d found to clip their dog’s nails. Someone even offered her a donation as it spared them from spending their money on hiring a professional pet groomer.

Although the clip itself looks silly or absurd at first glance, Lindsey was able to prove to everyone that her idea worked. Someone even expressed his amazement through a hilarious comment on Twitter:

“I came expecting madness and walked away humble and wise.”

Unarguably, Lindsey could just be the Einstein of dog-mothering, or perhaps a “dogtorate” degree holder as punned by another Twitter user.
