Animals have instincts that humans don’t, and there have been many stories of dogs being able to sense an owner’s illness before they even know for themselves. So what happens when somebody acts obviously ill in front of their dog — like fainting, for example?
We’re sure most of you dog owners out there will have tried this little trick with your dog already. Some people’s dogs might go crazy with worry and try to wake you up, while others might just carry on going about their doggy day as if you haven’t just collapsed down in front of them (totally offensive on their part).
Take a look at one YouTuber’s video showing her dog’s hilarious response to her fainting not once, but multiple times.
K’eyush The Stunt Dog is an internet-famous boy with over 1.5 million subscribers. He lives in Brixham, UK with his owner, who describes him as ‘A husky/malamute cross with a huge sense of humour!’ She also says that he’s a ‘smart dog, he learns new tricks very quickly.’ So with that in mind, we’re interested to see how he reacts to her passing out in front of him!
The video, which has over 20 million views and 224k likes, begins with K’eyush’s owner grabbing her neck and pretending to choke. You can see the dog watching her nervously from behind as she collapses onto the floor and lies still.
K’eyush remains still for a second before deciding that this is a cool game that he can get behind. He races up and down around his owner and runs back and forth from room to room.
All the zoomies could have been the pooch trying to encourage his owner to wake up, or he might have been smart enough to see that she was only faking. K’eyush’s owner didn’t manage to lie still for long due to the fact that the excitable pup was racing around all over her hair. So with experiment number one being somewhat unsuccessful, it was time for take number two.
This time, K’eyush’s owner ties her hair back before she ‘faints.’ However, the smart dog has figured out her game, and he’s getting bored. As his owner grabs her throat and collapses again, the funny pup stays exactly where he is in the other room.
He really can’t be bothered to move this time, but he hopes that his owner will get up soon and give him some attention. With experiment number two also being unsuccessful, it’s time for experiment number three.
For this take, K’eyush’s owner collapses onto her pup’s favorite beanbag. This encourages him to come in and check out the situation, but we think he’s more interested in why she’s taking a nap on his bed. After giving his owner a very confused stare, the pooch then goes back to doing his usual, totally normal dog things, such as licking the wall.
Naturally, K’eyush’s owner ‘wakes up’ at this point and experiment number three is over. This is great for the pooch, as he’s very hungry and the wall isn’t filling much of a hole.
Once she’s up and off the bean bag, K’eyush can’t resist having a little sniff ’round on there. Just to check that everything is still as it was before.
