Any pet parent would be desperate if their furry friend went missing. Animals that live with people for long eventually become family members and even thinking that they could get hurt or wander around town helpless could drive you crazy.
This is more or less what happened a couple of weeks ago in Albany, New York, when a woman lost her dog.
Chelsea Blackwell’s 15-year-old dog, Blue, went missing when he decided to chase something out of his owner’s yard. Although old, the pooch is still curious and he wanted to follow something that at the time looked interesting.
But this soon translated to “missing dog”, when he got lost and was unable to return home.
When his mom realized that he had gone missing, she was sad but determined to find him and take him back home.
At the same time, she knew that an old dog walking alone in a big city was not a good idea. So, she was prepared for the worst scenario.
So, Chelsea took the car and she started driving around the city for an hour hoping that she would find someone who had seen a small brown dachshund walking around.
To her surprise, someone answered positively after an hour of fruitless search.
“[I’d] stopped and asked if someone [had] seen a little brown dog? A man walked over to my car and said, yes, this woman picked him up. I said who? He replied a celebrity,” the woman wrote in a Facebook post.
Blackwell was doubtful about what she had just been told, but she waited until they called the woman who had found her doggie.
Only about an hour later, a gray car arrived at the spot where Blackwell had been waiting and when the door opened she saw Blue sitting on Hilary Swank’s lap.

“I was like, ‘No way,'” Blackwell said. “As soon as she got out of the car, I kissed Blue and said, ‘Thank you so much.’ “
The woman couldn’t believe her eyes. Not only was she reuniting with her best friend, but she also got to meet a two-time Oscar winner.
Once she made sure Blue was fine, she asked the famous actress, who happened to be filming a movie in the city at that time, for an autograph.
Instead, Swank offered something better.
“Relieved, and a little star struck, Chelsea asked Hilary for an autograph. Instead, the actress offered a picture together. Because who wouldn’t want to capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment?” wrote New Country 100.7 in a Facebook post.
Indeed, the two women took a picture together and they chatted a little. Chelsea couldn’t be happier that her dog returned home and she is forever thankful to the Hollywood star.
“She has such a beautiful soul,” Blackwell said of Swank, “[that] she just glows.”
What a lucky dog to return home safe and sound and spend time with a celebrity!
