Woman decided to groom her dog during quarantine – it didn’t end well
Do yourself and your dog a favor. Leave grooming to a professional.

Most of the world has been in quarantine for at least a month. And it’s getting rough out here. Lots of us look like a hot mess.

And we’re learning just how lucky we are to be afforded simple luxuries in life.

Like getting a haircut. Some people aren’t trying to wait it out until they are allowed to go to the hairdresser.

These people are taking matters into their own hands and cutting their own hair. It’s called a quarantine cut.

And most of them are just awful.

While Hermione Olivia of Sydney, Australia hasn’t taken a scissor to her own head, she decided that her dog needed a haircut. And she would be the one to give it to him.

The groomer does it. Can’t be that hard… right? Wrong! She was very, very wrong.

Her victim is a Pomeranian named Mash.

Olivia says that she was surprised the haircut came out so bad.

“Obviously we’re in lockdown so we had to take it upon ourselves to groom Mash. Not expecting this outcome!” she told Bored Panda.

Really? We could have told you that it was a terrible idea. So could Mash.

Alas, what’s done is done. Poor Mash! He was perfectly floofy and adorable before this haircut.

Now… not so much. He’s, of course, still adorable. He just looks kinda crazy. Quarantine crazy.

So, I guess it’s only fitting.

It would probably come across as a lot crazier if we weren’t living in such insane times right now. But this haircut was basically doomed to go wrong from the start.

Mash’s humans had no knowledge of how to groom a dog and didn’t even have the correct grooming tools.

“Having never groomed him before, we bought clippers and just kind of went for it. Turns out the clippers were definitely not the right size and we probably shouldn’t have started around his face – whoops!” Olivia said.

And Mash does not seem happy about it. I feel like dogs know when they look adorable.

They seem pretty proud of themselves after a proper groom.

But I also think they can sense when the grooming job has gone wrong and they come out looking jacked up. If you see the look on Mash’s face, you’ll know what I mean. But, it’s OK.

Both Mash and Olivia didn’t let this experience go by without learning a lesson.

One they’d like to share with others as a warning.

“Take it from Mash and wait until the professionals are back,” Hermione wrote on Instagram.

Mash isn’t too worried about his hair right now.

It’s already growing back.

“Real talk, it’s growing back quite nicely from this angle, don’t you think?” he asked on his Instagram page.

Olivia admits that she was “extremely guilty and embarrassed” after first giving Mash his cut.

But she ended up posting it on social media, knowing some people would get a kick out of it.

More than 4,000 people did.

“Now we’re pretty happy it’s bringing some light humour for people during these weird times,” Olivia said.

Still, she swears that she’s never going to attempt to groom Mash again.

“His coat is already growing back and he’s looking more handsome with every day,” she said.
