Blue describes himself on his TikTok page as “just a happy little rescue mutt name blue.”

He also says that he’s “loyal af,” according to his TikTok handle blue.loyalaf.

Perhaps what makes Blue so happy and loyal is his passion for helping others and bringing smiles to their faces.

When he ran off one day while at the dog park, his mom found him consoling a man who was in need of a friend.

Blue’s mom, August D., says that her doggo typically plays with other dogs while at the dog park.

Blue also always stays within view so mom can keep an eye on him. But that’s not what happened this day at the park. Blue had better things to do than play. There was someone in that park who needed him.

“I lost sight of him for a few moments in the park among all the other dogs,” Augusta said. “It’s quite large and busy with lots of dogs.”

Thankfully, he didn’t go far.

He stepped away and decided to take a break from his playtime to help another person that looked kind of sad and lonely.

Blue spotted a man sitting on a bench all by himself. Blue could sense that this man needed a friend.

So, he walked up to the man and sat right at his feet.

Augusta surveyed the park to finally find him getting cozy with the man on the bench.

She took a video of the man stroking Blue lovingly and giving him some good boy pats.

She posted that video to TikTok.

“Blue always finds people who need a little extra love,” Augusta wrote in the video’s caption.

“Blue would be the perfect therapy dog to visit hospitals and retirement homes,” said another.

According to Live Science, research shows that dogs understand when their owners and even strangers are upset.

And even more than that, they want to help you not be upset.

Seeing other people sad reportedly makes them feel sad too.

A dog’s way of communicating with humans is believed to be extraordinary.

It’s unlike any other species in the animal kingdom.

“They [dogs] can sense our emotions, read our facial expressions, and even follow our pointing gestures. They seem to possess a special skill for knowing exactly how we’re feeling,” an article on the American Kennel Club’s website explains.

It is just one of the reasons why our dogs make such great emotional support animals. The man looked very happy to have met Blue and to have someone to spend a little time with.

You can watch Blue coming to the rescue and consoling a stranger in the video below.
