Meet Connie, a senior Labrador with arthritis but a heart full of love.
She’s not as spry as she used to be, but what she lacks in agility, she more than makes up for in affection.
Stationed outside her home in Brighton, England, Connie has become a local celebrity, offering free cuddles to anyone who passes by.
Connie’s cozy dog bed serves as her throne, and above her hang two signs that read:
“Free Cuddles. I’m old and arthritic, but still have lots of love to share,” and “I’m very old and lame, but love affection.”
Both signs are endearingly signed, “Love, Connie.”
This isn’t just a cute gimmick; Connie genuinely enjoys the company of people.
With every wag of her tail, she invites pedestrians to take a break from their busy lives and share a moment of pure, unconditional love.
One lucky day, Becky Albon and her husband stumbled upon this cuddle station.
They were so moved by Connie’s sweet initiative that they couldn’t resist stopping to spend some quality time with her.
“She was super friendly and happy to see us,” Albon told The Dodo. “She even let us give her belly rubs.”
Connie was thrilled to have the company.
Her tail wagged vigorously as she soaked up the affection from the Albons.
But they weren’t the only ones; more neighbors walked by, each receiving a warm smile from Connie. “
She was wagging her tail at everyone who went past,” Albon added. “And she was very gentle.”
The encounter was so uplifting that Albon decided to share it with the world. She snapped a photo of Connie and posted it on the Dogspotting Facebook page.
The post went viral, garnering more than 14,000 likes and brightening the days of countless people.
