People are getting back to their roots and trying things the old fashioned way! With many places closed, the things that we often outsource (that our grandparents did themselves) are still needing to be done! One of those things is haircuts. With most barbershops and salons closed, people are doing all they can to get their fresh ‘do in. What happens, however, when your dog pooch needs a slick cut?
Cutting a dog’s hair is specific to breed and size.
There is some serious training and practice that needs to be done for many occupations. Pet grooming is one of them. We never knew how much we needed it until we needed it! Pet owners across the world are finding out how difficult it is to groom their pet, all while having none of the professional tools to do it!
This dilemma is resulting in some quite hilarious pictures!
The resulting chaos of fur and shame is one for the books. As optimistic owners grab the household clippers that have only ever seen bear hairs, people are getting to work.
As expected, people are failing miserably.
Thankfully, dogs don’t lean towards vanity. They rarely check themselves out in the mirror. The worst thing that can happen is your once manicured and groomed pet looking like it just relapsed.
Hermione Olivia is one of those owners.

Hailing from Australia, Hermione and her dog Mash went on a journey of trial and error together. Mash seems to be a Pomeranian and is a cute little fluffball. “Pom Poms” are not the easiest dogs to groom, though.
“To give your Pomeranian a show dog look, you can trim the fur every couple of months so that the dog has an overall round appearance. If you are inexperienced or nervous about using scissors on your dog, you may want to have a professional groomer handle the cutting. ”
The before and after photos tell a story of optimism and misfortune.
Mash is quite a cute pup who looks like most other Pomeranians. You can see above that nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. In an interview with UNILAD, Hermione said:
“Mash usually has a professional groom every few weeks to keep him looking smart.”
Eventually, Mash had to get his hair cut or risk severe matting.
No matter how long she tried to delay the event, Hermione recognized that she had to cut Mash’s hair eventually! The results are downright funny.
Hermione learned a lesson!
Deciding to not dwell on the bad but look to the good, Hermione shared a piece of advice for other dog owners who are thinking about taking their pets to the “home groomers.” In her Instagram post, she said:
“Take it from Mash and wait! Please let it grow out because, as we’ve learnt, ‘au naturel’ is the only way to go during lockdown.”
“Au naturel” seems to be the way to go…only people don’t seem to be getting the message!
With good news always in need in times like this, we can take comfort in knowing that the only funny pictures of hair mistakes aren’t just dog related. Wives and girlfriends across the world are sitting down to test their craft skills on their significant others’ flowing locks.
You might cry from laughing so hard at these photos of failed haircuts.
Jake had his girlfriend cut his hair. He gave her this photo as a guide from last year.
Gave my girlfriend this picture of me last year to go off while she cut my hair (she’s never cut hair before) pic.twitter.com/oTBDMb9mpq

I think a picture sums up how many people feel as they hear the clipper start whirring.

Regardless off who is cutting your hair, things could always be worse!
You may even discover that someone in your house has a special talent, and you don’t have to pay for haircuts anymore! It seems that Mash has recovered, at least! The difference between a good haircut and a bad one is two weeks, right?
