They say birds of the same feather, flock together.

I guess this is true, especially for Danielle who has officially called herself “The Magpie Whisperer.”

This woman had just moved into her new home in Australia when she noticed one Magpie landing in her yard.

Since the bird landed on her property, he would not stop following her and would even land on her knee.

The magpie would see her move around, and it would instantly fly to go where she was.

The bird completely likes her and won’t leave her by herself all day long.

She started to notice that the bird was trying to interact with her.

Danielle was doing her sketches outside and the bird would go up to her and try to grab her art supplies with its beak.

He would play around with the items, effectively entertaining himself and Danielle as well.

Not long after, Danielle noticed that the bird was flying in her direction with another bird.

The magpie now brought his son to her so they could have fun together.

The magpie and his son were very friendly.

Danielle never had the chance to interact with any wild bird of this kind before.

And when she saw that two birds are trying to befriend her, she was quite excited and happy to make some new friends in her new home.

What happened next was something she did not expect, although it could have been nagging at the back of her mind.

Apparently, birds of the same feather do flock together.

After seeing the other magpie bringing his son, the other young magpies saw that Danielle was friendly and decided they also would like to be friends with her.

The birds gradually increased in number and Danielle would have a lot of visitors to her property daily.

The number of magpies that would grace her yard has reached about 20 to 25 birds each day.

Every morning, she would look out her window and would see the flock of birds interacting with one another in her yard.

It is a very lovely sight and something that made Danielle feel closer to nature.

The woman did not mind having such a huge group of birds in her yard at all.

In fact, Danielle welcomed them all and would even allow them to land on her body.

Some are staying on her elbow, others are perched on her shoulder and some would even land on her knees or her head.

The magpies trust her completely, and Danielle is happy that she could spend her day with these lovely birds.

They loved to stay on her clothesline, too. Some birds would pull her hanging clothes and play with them as they dry under the sun.

Danielle would even deliberately leave socks and towels on her clothesline to keep the birds busy.

The woman got so happy with her newfound friends that she decided to give them real toys instead of letting them chew and peck on her clothes.

She bought toys and placed them in her yard so the magpies would have something to focus their attention on the next time they visit. And it worked!

The birds flew in the play area she created and they would interact with each other as they grabbed the toys of their choice.

It was fun watching them do this all day long.

Danielle has always been living alone, and being with the magpies gave her a new reason to be happy each day.

Seeing them fly above her head or simply play with the toys she gave them helps her in easing out of her anxiety and depression.

The magpies are having a great time, and Danielle is finding joy in them every single day.

Her friend’s encouragement as well as her love for animals inspired her to become a licensed wildlife carer.

She was prepared to take the role and is now specializing in caring for and treating wild Australian magpies.
