Dogs are such amazing creatures.
Whether you’re a dog-lover or not, you cannot deny the fact that these animals can touch someone else’s life in the most profound of ways.

A lot of people rescue and adopt dogs so they can pour their love into something, not really knowing the amount of unconditional affection.
Natalie began hearing some whimpers near their house.
When she followed where the sound was coming from, she saw a big ball of fur climbing up a porch of an abandoned structure.
The little, or not so little, puppy hid behind a toppled-down door and watched Natalie approach. Eventually, Natalie realized that this was the dog’s sleeping area.
The dog was a stray, or at least that was the case because no one is claiming her.
Fortunately, the dog was a bit stocky, which meant it couldn’t really outrun Natalie and her husband even if she tried.
So when the opportunity presented itself, the couple swooped in and rescued the puppy. From then on, they started rehabilitating her.
Natalie didn’t know what Bear could do.
When they first took her in, Natalie said that Bear slept all the time. There was even one instance when she fell asleep while taking a dip in the bathtub.
But once she realized that she was safe and that she was finally home, she started becoming more of herself. And by “more of herself,” it meant becoming a big ball of energy bouncing off the walls.
She loved playing with Natalie’s other dogs. She loved playing tug or fetch and just liked moving around even when her frame is getting bigger by the minute.
It was then that Natalie and her husband decided to finally give her away.
There was only one candidate in mind – Natalie’s father-in-law, Terry. 2019 was hard for Natalie’s husband and his dad.

He lost his wife suddenly, and as if the pain was not enough, in that same year, he had to put their family dog to sleep.
Terry admitted that he was in a “deep dark place” after that.
Then, one morning, Natalie and her husband came over and surprised Terry with a puppy. The widowed man fell in love quickly and hugged the puppy close.
He knew he was ready to love again, but what he was not ready for was Bear’s size.
He guessed that Bear might be a “newfie,” or a Newfoundland, which is a rather large breed. His guess was wrong but it didn’t mean Bear would be small. In fact, she’s a Saint Bernard.
Terry shared that his life changed when Bear came along.
He became more positive and outgoing. Bear also had a way of chasing the bad and lonely days away, also known as “using her body to occupy every space” until only love and affection remained.
“She seems to sense when I’m in a funk after a bad day.” He said to The Dodo. “I really don’t know what I’d do without her.”
