Summertime is quite harsh for us and our furry friends, especially those with thick fur. We could see our pets spending most of the scorching afternoon lying on the cool tiled floors at home, sometimes the bathroom becomes their lounging area.

They need our help to fight the summer heat.

There are plenty of ways to fight the summer heat and one of them is, of course, to invest in a good home air conditioning unit, although not all could afford one.

Bathing your pets is also one, but if your pet hates water, then every bath time becomes a game of chase. Don’t worry, though, as there is another way, and it’s surely something that your pets would love – frozen summertime treats.

This dog-mom shares what her panting huskies eat during summer.

Jessica lives with her husband and their four adorable huskies. In the video, she shows how much her pooches are panting hard while searching for that cool spot in their house. That’s when she decided to make them a treat.

All you need are these three ingredients.

Watermelon, Coconut Milk, and Honey are the three main ingredients for this recipe. Preferably, the watermelon should be seedless, if not, you should take out the seeds. If you don’t have coconut milk, coconut water would do just fine too. Honey is optional, but you know that it’s always better to have a bit of sweetness in life. Now it’s time to turn these ingredients into treats.

Here’s how you make them.

  • The goal is to make a yummy, frozen pup-sicle out of these ingredients. So, here are the four easy steps:
  • Measure 2 cups of seedless watermelon, 1 cup of coconut milk, and ¼ cup of honey
  • Put the ingredients in a blender and puree them
  • Pour the puree on your ice cube trays and freeze them
  • Take note in the video, Jessica used a special ice cube tray. If you want your pup-sicles to have these fun shapes, you can get the same tray!
  • Lastly, wait for them to freeze and serve.

Her huskies sure love them.

At the near-end part of the video, Jessica finally pulled out the frozen treats from the freezer. She gave one to each of her huskies, and they can’t help but ask their mom for more. Jessica’s husband, Jamie, also appeared in the video and tried one for himself.
