When it comes to the most beautiful and unique animals in the world, everyone has a somewhat different opinion. It’s important to remember that beauty is subjective. That means while one person finds a particular animal gorgeous, another might see it as well, visually unpleasing.
Keeping that in mind, we put together a list of what we perceive to be the top 50 animals. Included are some you’ve probably seen at the zoo, ones you currently own, and those that few people have encountered. Who knows, after looking at each of these, you might discover a new appreciation for a creature that you otherwise didn’t pay attention to.

At first, you might think someone put fake hair on this cat to create the illusion of him having a beard. But this is 100 percent real. What do you want to bet there’s probably a lot of men out there who’d be so jealous?
While the Afghan Hound is known for its silky long hair, we think this one might be showing off just a bit. With that auburn color and length, we can’t blame her. This dog is so gorgeous. It almost looks as though someone placed an expensive wig over her body.
3. Mustache’s are cool, too
Hey, if a cat can have a beard, why not a mustache? This guy is proud of his looks as he should be. With the white against the black, he looks like a little old man, which makes him all the more adorable.
4. Getting ready for a night on the town
This kitty is all ready to go out. She has on false eyelashes, mascara, and liner. The only issue…she might’ve overdone it just a little bit. We still think she’s beautiful.
It’s not every day that you see a calf with a perfect white heart on its head. It’s like a piece of art but on a living creature.
This stunning animal is called an Okapi. Can you guess what two animals it’s related to? If you said the giraffe and zebra, you’d be correct. But since it lives in the Congo, not very many people get the chance to see one.
For all the snake lovers, how’d you like to own these beauties? Unfortunately, we don’t know what species they are but compared to what most people are accustomed to seeing, their dramatic color makes them stand out.
These Huskies might be twins but one was born with amber-colored eyes and the other one blue. Regardless, they’re both breathtakingly beautiful. We’d gladly claim either one.
…from the inside out. It almost looks like a map of the universe inside of this cat’s eyes. Instead of this being creepy, it’s amazing. The owner receives compliments about her kitty’s eyes all the time and we can see why.
The chance of this ever happening again is probably zero. This is the coolest thing ever — a perfect replica of the brown horse on her body in white hair. This is creation at its finest.
It seems impossible yet you can see it with your own eyes. And what’s even more amazing is how symmetric each side of this cat’s face is. We just wonder if he has two different personalities.
Usually, foxes are brown. But as shown in this photo, they also come in white and black. Not only is our list of photos fun to look at but also educational. It’s a bonus.
For starters, this cat has an incredibly fluffy mane. But she’s also sporting a sexy little mole. Although we probably would’ve named this kitty Marilyn Monroe, come to find out, it’s a boy and his name is Buttons.
14. Giving Cinnabon a run for its money
With patterned hair like that, Cinnabon might want to up their marketing efforts or hire this cat as its spokes model. And that little round face is just too darn cute for words.
Believe it or not, there’s a cat inside of all that hair. If there was an award for the “fluffiest kitty in the world,” this boy would take first place. We bet the owner spends a lot of time brushing to keep him looking so gorgeous.
As you can imagine, a lot of people had opinions on what to name this pup. At the top of the list — Joker and Groucho. Hmm, we wonder where they came up with those two?
A person or animal with different colored eyes has a condition known as Heterochromia indium. But it’s not very common to see two sister cats having it. In this case, they each have one blue and one green eye, which against their white hair looks spectacular.
The dark slanted eyebrows make it appear as though this kitty is extra quizzical. You know, cats are curious. So, maybe he wants to know more about the coffee on the kitchen countertop or perhaps he’s questioning what his owner decided to wear to work.
19. That’s one lucky calf
Considering this calf has a perfect number seven blazing from the top of her head to the tip of her nose, this owner might want to keep her around. Otherwise, their good luck might change.
20. “Look deep into my eyes”
You can almost hear this black German Shepherd say those very words. With eyes that are a blue/turquoise shade perfectly encircled in brown hair, it wouldn’t be hard to follow his command. This pup is mesmerizing.
21. Poisonous yet beautiful
It’s hard to deny the beauty of this Poisonous Blue Dart Frog. That sapphire color makes this one of the most stunning species in existence. Since it lives in tropical forests, most of us will never see one in person. But considering it secretes a toxic substance through its skin, we probably don’t want to.
That’s what this cat looks like. But the standout is the large black heart located right in the middle of his chest. Then with those bright, big eyes, he becomes even more alluring.
Okay, so not everyone will think the Leafy Sandragon is beautiful but it’s definitely unique. As a member of the Seahorse family, it’s found along Australia’s western and southern coasts. This living creature gets its name because it looks like a blob of leaves in the water.
24. Best friends with the cat
You remember the gorgeous kitty wearing makeup? Well, perhaps this is her best friend. After all, it looks as though she too got into her owner’s mascara and eye shadow. The only difference between the two, we think the bunny’s application was better…sorry cat.
Not only does this kitty have Heterochromia iridium but also adorable, dark slanted eyebrows. That unique combination makes her super cute. She’s just a doll.
26. Majestic ocean dweller
The Pacific Ocean is filled with a vast array of beautiful marine life. But the Mandarinfish is perhaps one of the most colorful and exciting. The only bad part, they have spines that stick to human skin. Through them, this fish transmits dangerous toxins.
If you ever need a cat for a secret mission, this is the one for the job. With his natural “mask,” he can blend into almost any environment. Okay, probably not but he likes to think so.
This photo looks like an artist started painting a cat but then suddenly stopped. But here’s the question…was the kitty supposed to be all white or all black? We’ll never know. And no, it’s not a painting.
Have you ever seen a solid black cat with a pink nose? Yeah, we haven’t either. While it looks a little odd, we still think this cat is stunning to look at.
30. Who are you smiling at?
This is super cool. What other cat has two eyes and a smiling mouth on its back? Probably none. It’d be even more awesome if this kitty was one that smiled. Then people would feel happy petting her from the front or back.
If you’ve never heard of this creature, don’t feel bad. The Binturong slightly resembles a bear that can grow to between 45 and 70 pounds. But it’s remarkably gentle. Also, it’s legal to own one in almost every state. Besides the adorable face, the Binturong smells like popcorn.
32. Now that’s what you call a tail
Yes, some cats have extra long tails but it’d be hard to find one that beats this. The tail combined with this cat’s coloring and face and you have one good-looking fellow.
33. My, what big ears you have
This is a Fennec Fox and as you can tell, its most obvious feature is the massive ears. While you don’t see many of them in captivity, similar to the Binturong, they’re legal to own in most states.
If you’re wanting to get a pet for your kids but prefer something unique, you might consider a Pygmy Goat. These animals are smart, fun, and as shown in this photo, they come in a broad range of colors and color combinations.
While the Serval is a wild cat native to Africa, you can own one in about half of the United States. They have a striking resemblance to a Cheetah but at maturity, only weigh anywhere from 15 to 26 pounds. And they make excellent pets.
You might not believe it but this cat is actually black. But due to a condition known as vitiligo, his hair ended up with a beautiful and unique patterned effect. Personally, I think he’s far more handsome now and he’s healthy.
37. In a league of its own
This short-faced bear has marbled fur. According to experts, this isn’t uncommon. But not very many people have had the opportunity to see one like this up close.
38. Would you look at that
This Gerenuk, which is also known as the Waller’s Gazelle, has legs and a neck that goes on forever. As for the size of the head, ears, and eyes, they’re much smaller than the body. Hailed from Eastern Africa, this animal stands on its hind legs to reach the higher branches for food.
We warned you that the beauty of animals is subjective. This Naked Mole Rate is a perfect example of that. Some might say it’s so ugly that it’s cute. When properly cared for, this creature can live up to 28 years.
If you’ve ever studied birds that live in the wild, you know just how gorgeous some of them are. This Green-Headed Tanager’s feathers consist of colors that typically don’t go well together. But they make this species stunning.
A lot of people who want an adorable and unique pet are choosing a Sugar Glider. This animal is as cute as a bug but there’s one thing to know. With four scent glands, cages must be cleaned regularly since their poop smells horribly bad.
Along with gray, tan, and white hair, the Ring-Tailed Lemur has the most intense eyes. They’re a golden color surrounded by black hair. Then their tails have black rings. For this particular animal, roughly 100 different types and markings exist.
When it comes to stripes on animals, this cat got the good end of the deal. But the stripes are further enhanced with her solid-colored tail and unique patterns on the face. This kitty is amazing.
