Hope for Paws has performed tons of epic dog and cat rescues around Los Angeles. In July 2018, they added another amazing rescue to their record when they saved two little homeless dogs from a schoolyard.

The two dogs, Yogi and Boo-Boo, were around the same size and clearly very bonded. They had been running around one neighborhood for weeks. The neighborhood’s residents tried to rescue them, but they were scared of people and kept running away. Finally, they took refuge in a schoolyard.

The residents called Hope for Paws, and they rushed out to rescue the little dogs.

“ When we got the call on the Hope For Paws line, we rushed to the location, but on that first day we couldn’t even find them. It was over 100 degrees outside, so we just created a secure enclosure. The janitor was so kind and offered to keep an eye on them, and he promised that as soon as they go into the enclosure, he will seal the dogs in,” Eldad Hagar, founder of Hope for Paws, wrote in the rescue video’s description.

Eldad Hagar and his friend Loreta waited, hoping the dogs would follow the trail of food to the secure enclosure. Finally, after 28 hours, the dogs appeared. The janitor called to tell Hope for Paws, and they rushed over to the school. But by the time they got there, the janitor had already left. And so, they had no choice but to scale the fence to get into the schoolyard.

Once Hagar and Loreta were in the schoolyard, Yogi and Boo-Boo started barking non-stop. Hagar tried to get them to go into the cage they brought, but they wouldn’t come.

Hagar and Loreta ended up using a net to catch the dogs. The dogs were a bit stressed at first, but Hagar and Loreta calmed them down and talked to them in soothing voices.

Once Hagar had captured both dogs, he and Loreta scaled the fence again, where many of the neighborhood’s residents were waiting for them. Everyone was so happy the dogs were safe and in good hands!

Hagar and Loreta brought the two dogs to the vet for a bath and medical care.

Before they began their treatment, Loreta sat with the two nervous dogs for a while. She gently pet them, and soon, they stopped trembling. They seemed to understand Loreta wanted to help them.

After the dogs were bathed and checked out, they went to their new foster home. Their foster mom Freddy gave them tons of love and affection. Hagar and Loreta also visited the sweet dogs a few times. They were amazed to see how trusting and friendly they were.

Yogi and Boo-Boo didn’t end up staying at the foster home for long, though. Just a few days after they were rescued, they went to their forever home!

Their new dads, Neville and Kenny, love the pups so much. They even got a baby cam so they can keep an eye on the dogs when they’re away from home. These dogs are in a great place!

The most amazing dads Neville and Kenny! How lucky are Yogi Bear and Boo Boo!!!
