Handsome two-colored father cat has babies in each of his colors

July 21st, 2020

Narnia is a very special cat! Not only does he have two striking bright blue eyes, but he’s also two-faced.

And I don’t mean in a bad, back stabby way. Cats are mean, but not that mean.

He literally has two distinct sides to his face.

On one side he’s solid gray and on the other, dark black.

The line that divides the two goes straight down the middle, and the rest of his body becomes black at the neck. I have truly never seen a cuter cat before in my entire internet-surfing life!

His owner Stephanie Jiminez spoke to Bored Panda about what life is like with such a unique pet.

“When Narnia was born I was extremely surprised. I knew immediately that he was exceptional.”

And two years later, he’s already become a proud papa! Kids grow up so fast, don’t they?

There’s no real measure for a cat’s human equivalent age like we have with “dog years”. But the first two years of a cat’s life is about the same as a person’s first 25.

So don’t worry, he’s not as young as he sounds.

He’s a new father to two kittens, which have both taken after their handsome dad. But they don’t have his “two-faced” feature.

Instead, they’ve each taken one solid fur color from one side of Narnia’s face. One black baby, and one gray.

The grey kitten has been named Phoenix, and the black kitten goes by Prada.

All three of them have pretty badass names!

Genetics are complicated, but in this case it seems pretty clear that the kittens have pretty much split their papa’s genes fifty-fifty. But they’re both one hundred percent as beautiful.

The only thing that’s missing are their dad’s bright blue eyes – but they have to take after their mom in some way, right?

Just look at this adorable fluffy couple!

Stephanie says her beautiful cat makes a great dad.

“Narnia is very well and he loves playing with his kittens.”

One thing he can definitely pass down to his babies, is the knowledge of how to handle fame at such a young age. He’s learned to live in the limelight with over 250k Instagram followers!

He has so many fans that he even receives fan art from adoring cat-lovers.

But this isn’t the first or last set of kittens for Narnia.

His human mama is a professional breeder and said that Phoenix and Prada were an anomaly. His other kittens so far have all varied in color.

Narnia has fathered six other kittens thus far in his life (that’s a lot more than most 25 year old people can say… so he’s been busy!). This one, Polaris, definitely inherited her dad’s pretty eyes.

In fact, all the other kittens did except for Phoenix and Prada.

Narnia was was originally thought to be a rare chimera cat when he was born.

Chimeras have two types of DNA in their cells which cause the embryo to fuse together. Then the genes are expressed differently when they’re born and voila! A two faced cat!

But it turns out that’s actually not how his unique face came to be.

“A geneticist performed tests and [found] Narnia has only one DNA… there remains a mystery for science.”

So he really is an exceptional little creature!

You can follow Narnia on Instagram to see how his unique and beautiful family continues to grow.
